Justified by God

I hear the words of love,
I gaze upon the Blood;
I see the mighty sacrifice,
And I have peace with God.

[Horatius Bonar 1861]

Justified by God.
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Romans 8:30

Justified by grace.
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Romans 3:24

Justified by blood.
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Romans 5:9

Justified by faith.
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Romans 5:1

Justified by the Spirit.
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:11 ♥

The Top Ten Signs You May Not Be Reading Your Bible Enough

10. The preacher announces the sermon is from Genesis and you check the table of contents.

9. You think Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob may have had a few hit songs during the ‘60s.

8. You open to Psalms and a WWII savings bond falls out.

7. When asked, you say that your favorite Old Testament patriarch is Hercules.

6. Your favorite Bible verse is, Cleanliness is next to godliness.

5. You become frustrated because Charlton Heston isn't listed in either the concordance or the table of contents.

4. Catching the kids reading the Song of Solomon, you demand: Who gave you this stuff?

3. You think the Minor Prophets worked in the quarries.

2. You keep falling for it every time when the preacher tells you to turn to First Hezekiah.

And the number one sign you may not be reading your Bible enough:

1. The kids keep asking too many questions about your usual bedtime story: Jonah the Shepherd Boy and His Ark of Many Colors.

Dear Master...

Dear Master for this coming year
Just one request I bring:
I do not pray for happiness,
Or any earthly thing—
I do not ask to understand
The way Thou leadest me,
But this I ask: Teach me to do
The thing that pleaseth Thee.
I want to know Thy guiding voice,
To walk with Thee each day.

Dear Master make me swift to hear
And ready to obey.
And thus the year I now begin
A happy year will be—
If I am seeking just to do
The thing that pleaseth Thee.

Mighty Women of God

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shapebut a woman of strength looks deep inside to keep her soul in shape

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything but a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of her fear

A strong woman won't let anyone get the best of her but a woman of strength gives the best of her to everyone

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future but a woman of strength realizes life's mistakes can also be blessings and capitalizes on them

A strong woman walks sure footedly but a woman of strength knows when to ask for help

A strong woman wears the look of confidence on her face but a woman of strength wears grace

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey but a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong

Our Greatest Need

If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent us an educator;
If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist;
If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist;
If our greatest need had been pleasure, God would have sent us an entertainer;
But our greatest need was forgiveness, so God sent us a Savior.

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: 2 Timothy 1:9-10

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. A Pebble

Drop a pebble in the water: just a splash, and it is gone; But there’s half-a-hundred ripples circling on and on and on, Spreading, spreading from the center, flowing on out to the sea. And there is no way of telling where the end is going to be.

Drop a pebble in the water: in a minute you forget, But there’s little waves a-flowing, and there’s ripples circling yet, And those little waves a-flowing to a great big wave have grown; You’ve disturbed a mighty river just by dropping in a stone.

Drop an unkind word, or careless: in a minute it is gone; But there’s half-a-hundred ripples circling on and on and on. They keep spreading, spreading, spreading from the center as they go, And there is no way to stop them, once you’ve started them to flow.

Drop an unkind word, or careless: in a minute you forget; But there’s little waves a-flowing, and there’s ripples circling yet, And perhaps in some sad heart a mighty wave of tears you’ve stirred, And disturbed a life was happy ere you dropped that unkind word.

Drop a word of cheer and kindness: just a flash and it is gone; But there’s half-a-hundred ripples circling on and on and on, Bearing hope and joy and comfort on each splashing, dashing wave Till you wouldn’t believe the volume of the one kind word you gave.

Drop a word of cheer and kindness: in a minute you forget; But there’s gladness still a-swelling, and there’s joy circling yet, And you’ve rolled a wave of comfort whose sweet music can be heard Over miles and miles of water just by dropping one kind word.

[James W. Foley]

Saved by Grace

One day God was looking down to earth and saw all of the evil that was going on. He decided to send an angel down to earth to check it out so He called on an angel and sent her to earth for a time.

When she returned she told God, "yes it is bad on earth, 95% is bad and 5% is good." Well, He thought for a moment and said, “maybe I had... better send down another angel, just to get both points of view.”

So God called another angel and sent him to earth for a time. When the male angel returned he went to God and told him, “yes the earth was in decline, 95% was bad and 5% was good.”

God said, “this was not good,” He would send a letter to the 5% that were good and encourage them, something to help them keep going.

Do you know what that letter said?

Oh......, you didn't get one either?!

JOY ~ Jesus first Others second Yourself last

A young man was at the end of his rope, seeing no way out, dropped to his knees in prayer. "Lord, I can't go on," he said. "I have too heavy of a cross to bear."

The Lord replied, "My son, if you can't bear its weight, just place your cross inside this room. Then, open that other door and pick out any cross you wish."

The man was filled with relief and said, "Thank you, Lord," and he did as he was told. Upon opening the door, he saw many crosses, some so large the tops were not visible.

Then, he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall. "I'd like that one, Lord," he whispered. And the Lord replied, " My son, that is the cross you just brought in."

When life's problems seem overwhelming, it helps to look around and see what other people are coping with. You may consider yourself far more fortunate than you imagined.

YOUR CROSS , Whatever your cross, whatever your pain, there will always be sunshine after the rain. Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall, But God's always there to help you through it all.

"Remember The Duck"

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm. He was given a slingshot to play with in the woods. He practiced and practiced but could never hit the target. Becoming somewhat discouraged; he headed back to dinner.

As he was returning, he saw Grandma's pet duck. Just out of impulse, he let fly, hit the duck square in t...he head, and killed it. He was shocked and grieved.

In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the woodpile, only to see his sister watching. Sally had seen it all, but said nothing.

After lunch that day, Grandma said, "Sally, let's wash the dishes."

But Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen today, didn't you, Johnny?" And then she whispered to him, "Remember, the duck?"

So Johnny did the dishes.

Later Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing, and Grandma said, "I'm sorry, but I need Sally to help make supper."

But Sally smiled and said, "Well, that's all right because Johnny told me he wanted to help." And she whispered again, "Remember, the duck?"

So Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed.

After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's, he finally couldn't stand it any longer. He went to Grandma and confessed that he had killed her pet duck and asked her forgiveness.

She knelt down, gave him a hug, and said, "Sweetheart, I know. You see, I was standing at the window, and I saw the whole thing. And because I love you, I forgive you. But I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a slave of you."

I don't know what's in your past. I don't know what one sin the enemy keeps throwing up in your face. But whatever it is, I want you to know something…

God is also standing at the window. And He sees everything. And because He loves you, He will forgive you if you will but ask. Perhaps He's wondering how long you will let the enemy make a slave out of you.

The great thing about Jesus is that He not only forgives, but He forgets.

The Five Finger Prayer

1) Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a “sweet duty.”

2) The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3) The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God’s guidance.

4) The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

5) And lastly comes our little finger – the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, “The least shall be the greatest among you.” Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. God's Cake

A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.

Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, 'Absolutely Mom, I love your cake.'

'Here, have some cooking oil,' her Mother offers.

'Yuck' says her daughter.

'How about a couple raw eggs?' 'Gross, Mom!'

'Would you like some flour then?

Or maybe baking soda?'

'Mom, those are all yucky!'

To which the mother replies: 'Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves.
But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake! '

God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!

Where God Ain't

•♥•✿Ú¿Ú°ۣ(̆̃̃•♥ღڿڰۣ•♥(̆̃̃ღ•♥•Ú¿Ú°ۣ(̆̃̃ღ•♥•

He was just a little boy,
On a week’s first day.
Wandering home from Bible school,
And dawdling on the way.

He scuffed his shoes into the grass;
He even found a caterpillar.
He found a fluffy milkweed pod,
And blew out all the ‘filler.’

A bird’s nest in a tree overhead,
So wisely placed up so high.
Was just another wonder,
That caught his eager eye.

A neighbor watched his zig zag course,
And hailed him from the lawn;
Asked him where he’d been that day
And what was going on.

“I’ve been to Bible School,”
He said and turned a piece of sod.
He picked up a wiggly worm replying,
“I’ve learned a lot ’bout God.”

“M’mm, very fine way,” the neighbor said,
“for a boy to spend his time.
If you’ll tell me where God is,
I’ll give you a brand new dime.”

Quick as a flash the answer came!
Nor were his accents faint.
“I’ll give you a dollar, Mister,
If you can tell me where God ain’t.”

{{{ Jesus Hug }}}

Have you ever had a "Jesus hug"  Do you know what one feels like?
If you've never had a "Jesus hug"
I pray one day you might.

A "Jesus hug" is different
As far as hugging goes,
It's a little taste of Heaven
Here on earth below.

Only those who love the Lord
Can give a "Jesus hug",
It conveys God's grace and mercy
And unconditional love.

Those who give out "Jesus hugs"
Always seem to somehow know,
Just when you're in need of one
To make your spirit glow.

And if you ever need one
I hope that I will see,
So I can give you a "Jesus hug"
Just like someone did for me.

What I have learned from Noah's Ark ♥

One- Don't miss the boat.

Two- Remember that we are all in the same boat.

Three- Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.

Four- Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.

Five- Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.

Six- Build your future on high ground.

Seven- For safety's sake, travel in pairs.

Eight- Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.

Nine- When you're stressed, float a while.

Ten- Remember, the Ark was built by amateur; the Titanic by professionals.

Eleven- No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting. ❤

It All Starts With U

Before U were thought of or time had begun, God even stuck U in the name of His Son.  And each time U pray, you'll see it's true You can't spell out JesUs and not include U.

You're a pretty big part of His wonderful name, For U, He was  orn; that's why He came. And His great love for U is the reason He died.
It even takes U to spell crUcified.

Isn't it thrilling and splendidly grand
He rose from the dead, with U in His plan.
The stones split away, the gold trUmpet blew,
and this word resUrrection is spelled with a U.

When JesUs left earth at His upward ascension,
He felt there was one thing He just had to mention.
"Go into the world and tell them it's true.
That I love them all - Just like I love U."

So many great people are spelled with a U,
Don't they have a right to know JesUs too?
It all depends now on what U will do,
He'd like them to know - But it all starts with U.

Matthew 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. ♥

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. ♥

Guidance

When I meditated on the word GUIDANCE, I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word. I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing. When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn't flow with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.

When one person realizes and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music. One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by pressing lightly in one direction or another. It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully. The dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word GUIDANCE. When I saw "G," I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i." "God, "u" and "i" "dance." God, you, and I dance! This statement is what guidance means to me.

As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life. Once again, I became willing to let God lead.

My prayer for you today is that God's blessings and mercies be upon you and your family on this day and everyday. May you abide in Him as He abides in you. Dance together with God, trusting Him to lead and to guide you through each season of your life.

I hope you dance!!!

Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever. Psalm 30:11-12 ♥
