Are You Washed In The Blood?

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you washed in the blood,
In the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you walking daily by the Savior’s side?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Do you rest each moment in the Crucified?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you washed in the blood,
In the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

When the Bridegroom cometh will your robes be white?
Pure and white in the blood of the Lamb?
Will your soul be ready for the mansions bright,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you washed in the blood,
In the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb;
There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean,
O be washed in the blood of the Lamb!

[written by: Elisha A. Hoffman 1878]

1 John 1:7 … But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

The Righteous Judge

Justice is not something God has. Justice is something that God is.

[A.W. Tozer]

Psalm 145:17 … The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.

Deuteronomy 32:4 … He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

Revelation 22:12 … And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. ♥

Quench Your Thirst; Come to Christ

There is no royal road to rest of soul. Let that never be forgotten. There is only one way to the Father—Jesus Christ; One door into heaven—Jesus Christ; And one path to heart-peace—Jesus Christ. By that way all “laboring and heavy-laden” ones must go, whatever be their rank or condition.

[J.C. Ryle]

John 7:37 … In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

Matthew 11:28 … Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Revelation 21:6 … And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

John 14:6 … Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. ♥

The Blacksmith

You perhaps recall the story of the blacksmith who gave his heart to Jesus.

Though living a more Godly life, still he was not prospering materially. In fact, it seems that from the time of his conversion more trouble, affliction and loss were sustained than ever before. Everything seemed to be going wrong.

One day a friend who was not a Christian stopped by to talk to him awhile. Sympathizing with him in some of his trials, the friend said ...

"It seems strange to me that so much affliction should pass over you just at the time when you have become an earnest Christian. Of course, I don't want to weaken your faith in God or anything like that. But here you are, with God's help and guidance, and yet things seem to be getting steadily worse. I can't help wondering why that is."

The blacksmith did not answer immediately, and it was evident that he had thought the same question before. But finally, he said …

"You see here the raw iron which I have to make into horse's shoes. You know what I do with it? I take a piece and heat it in the fire until it is red, almost white with the heat. Then I hammer it unmercifully to shape it as I know it should be shaped. Then I plunge it into a pail of cold water to temper it. Then I heat it again and hammer it some more. And this I do until it is finished."

“But sometimes I find a piece of iron that won't stand up under this treatment. The heat and the hammering and the cold water are too much for it. I don't know why it fails in the process, but I know it will never make a good horse's shoe."

He pointed to a heap of scrap iron that was near the door of his shop.

"When I get a piece that cannot take the shape and temper, I throw it out on the scrap heap. It will never be good for anything."

He went on, "I know that God has been holding me in the fires of affliction and I have felt His hammer upon me. But I don't mind, if only He can bring me to what I should be. And so, in all these hard things my prayer is simply this:

Try me in any way you wish, Lord, only don't throw me on the scrap heap."

[Author Unknown]

Malachi 3:3 … And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver:

Isaiah 48:10 … Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

1 Peter 1:7 … That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: ♥

Abide in Christ

The branch of the vine does not worry, and toil, and rush here to seek for sunshine, and there to find rain. No; it rests in union and communion with the vine; and at the right time, and in the right way, is the right fruit found on it. Let us so abide in the Lord Jesus.

[Hudson Taylor]

John 15:4 … Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

John 15:5 … I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Galatians 5:22-23 … But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Ephesians 5:8-9 … For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) ♥

The Building

Build me a house, said the Master, But not on the shifting sand, Mid the wreck and roar of tempests, A house that will firmly stand.

I will bring thee windows of agates, And gates of carbuncles bright, And thy fairest courts and portals, Shall be filled with love and light.

Thou shalt build with fadeless rubies, All fashioned around the throne, A house that shall last forever, With Christ as the cornerstone.

It shall be a royal mansion, A fair and beautiful thing, It will be the presence-chamber, Of thy Saviour, Lord and King.

Thy house shall be bound with pinions To mansions of rest above, But grace shall forge all the fetters, With the links and cords of love.

Thou shalt be free in this mansion, From sorrow and pain of heart, For the peace of God shall enter, And never again depart.

[Frances Harper]

Matthew 7:24-25 … Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Isaiah 28:16 … Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

Ephesians 2:19-20 … Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; ♥

All Consuming Fire

All consuming fire, You’re my heart’s desire
And I love You dearly, dearly Lord!
Your’re my meditation, and my consolation
And I love You dearly, dearly, Lord!

Glory to the Lamb
I exalt the great I AM
Reigning on your glorious throne
You are my eternal home!

Hebrews 12:29 … For our God is a consuming fire. ♥

This Little Light of Mine

Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.

Then he cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.

He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc., and then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.

[Author Unknown]

John 8:12 … Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

2 Corinthians 4:6 … For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 5:14-16 … Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. ♥

Beautiful Blessings

One day a very wealthy father took his son to a very humble farm home. The father wanted the son to see and appreciate everything they have. For the son was never near poverty. The father decided to spend one day and one night with his son at this very humble home.

On the next day after spending the night and returning to their beautiful mansion, the father wanted to hear his son’s reaction towards the educating trip.

Father: So son what do you think about the trip? Did you see how poor people live?

Son: Yes father.

Father: What do you think? What have you learned from this trip?

Son: I have learned that they have four dogs and we only have one.
I have learned that we have a small garden and they have an entire forest.
I have learned that we have a small stream on our back yard and they have a full river that has no end.
I have learned that our back yard goes to the end of our property and they have an entire horizon.
I have learned that we have lamps on our back yard to keep us from the dark and they have the stars.

The son continues his reply and said: Thank you father for showing me how poor we really are.

Hebrews 13:5 … Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Luke 12:15 … And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

1 John 2:16 … For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Matthew 6:19-21 … Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. ♥

The Church's One Foundation

The Church’s one foundation
Is Jesus Christ her Lord,
She is His new creation
By water and the Word.

From heaven He came and sought her
To be His holy bride;
With His own blood He bought her
And for her life He died.

She is from every nation,
Yet one o’er all the earth;
Her charter of salvation,
One Lord, one faith, one birth;

One holy Name she blesses,
Partakes one holy food,
And to one hope she presses,
With every grace endued.

’Mid toil and tribulation,
And tumult of her war,
She waits the consummation
Of peace forevermore;

Till with the vision glorious,
Her longing eyes are blessed,
And the great Church victorious
Shall be the Church at rest.

Yet she on earth hath union
With God the Three in One,
And mystic sweet communion
With those whose rest is won,

O happy ones and holy!
Lord, give us grace that we
Like them, the meek and lowly,
On high may dwell with Thee.

[written by: Samuel J. Stone 1866]

1 Corinthians 6:17 … But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:27 … Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

Ephesians 5:30 … For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

Ephesians 4:5-6 … One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. ♥

Revelation 19:11-16 … And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. ♥

Apples of Gold

A word can either make you happy or make you sad. A word can make you angry or fill you with joy. Words can either hurt you or heal you. (Proverbs 15:23, 12:18) Just as a single harsh word can tear someone down, one word of encouragement can build someone up. We should always use our words wisely.

Proverbs 25:11 … A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. ♥

Blessed For Ever

Christian, rejoice in your union with Jesus!

The changes of time cannot touch it!

The storms of life cannot injure it!

The sword of persecution cannot sever it!

The damps of death cannot affect it!

The malice of hell cannot move it!

It is a union which will last forever!

It follows, therefore, that you, if a partaker of it — will be rich forever, safe forever, dignified forever, and blessed forever!

[John MacDuff]

He is Able

Some Reasons not to Give Up on God:

1. God is always greater than your need.
2. God always is greater than your enemy.
3. God always loves you more than you do.
4. God always has better plans for you than you do.
5. God always gives you what is good for you.
6. God always is available to you.
7. God gives you what you could never give to yourself.
8. Whatever God gives to you can never be taken from you.

A Christian Home

O give us homes with godly fathers, mothers, Who always place their hope and trust in Him; Whose tender patience turmoil never bothers, Whose calm and courage trouble cannot dim; A home where each finds joy in serving others, and love still shines, tho’ days be dark and grim.

O give us homes where Christ is Lord and Master, The Bible read, the precious Psalms still sung; Where pray’r comes first in peace or in disaster, And praise is natural speech to ev’ry tongue; Where mountains move before a faith that’s vaster, And Christ sufficient is for old and young.

O Lord, our God, our homes are Thine forever! We trust to Thee their problems, toil, and care; Their bonds of love no enemy can sever, If Thou art always Lord and Master there: Be Thou the center of our least endeavor, Be Thou our Guest, our hearts and homes to share.

Joshua 24:15 … And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

It is Finished

I don't believe that ever in history, anywhere, at any time, by anybody, were three words more pregnant with meaning than these three words given by one Man at the end of His life - “It is finished.”

[Leonard Ravenhill]

1 Peter 2:24 … Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

2 Corinthians 5:21 … For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Thoughts to Ponder

Words can't break bones, but they can break hearts.

Those who walk with God won't run from people's needs.

Sorrow looks back, worry looks around, but faith looks up.

We're richer when we give, and poorer when we keep.

Because of the cross of Christ, we can become friends of Christ.

Amid the darkness of sin, the light of God's grace shines in.

Enthusiasm for Christ is contagious -- has anyone caught it from you?

Be as patient with others as God has been with you.

It is better by far to die for something, than to live for nothing.

The God who sends you free will also sustain you.

It's always darkest before the dawn.

To change your outlook, remember God's looking out for you.

Confession of sin is not an admission of weakness, but a sign of strength.

The harder you work at what you should be, the less you'll try to hide what you are.

Reading the Bible without meditating on it is like eating without chewing.

Work well done for Christ will receive a "well done" from Christ.

Don't complain over what the world is coming to -- proclaim the One who is coming to the world.

Spiritual victory comes only to those who are prepared for battle.

Apply yourself to the scriptures, and the scriptures to yourself.

The Bible is not meant merely to inform, but to transform.

Grace is everything, for nothing, to those who don't deserve anything.

Courage is not the absence of fear, but the mastery of fear.

If you keep in step with God, you'll be out of step with the world.

Salvation is so simple we can overlook it, so profound we can never comprehend it.

To avoid lying, do nothing that needs to be covered-up.

Give your all to Christ, who gave His all for you.

There is always enough time to do God's will.

Love always seeks to help, never to hurt.

Never try to carry tomorrow's burdens with today's grace.

Nails could not have kept Jesus on the cross, had love not held Him there.

Eternal Rewards

No pain ~ no palm;
No thorns ~ no throne;
No gall ~ no glory;
No cross ~ no crown.

1 Thessalonians 2:19 … For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?

James 1:12 … Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. ♥

Intimate Relationship

God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No, I do not believe there is a God. I *know* there is a God!”

[Ernest Boyer, Jr.]

Hosea 2:20 … I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.

John 17:3 … And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

God Created Marriage

God created marriage. No government subcommittee envisioned it. No social organization developed it. Marriage was conceived and born in the mind of God.

God could have given Adam a man, but he didn't. God could have given Adam two women, but he didn't. God could have given Eve to Adam for one night, but he didn't. He gave her to him for life.

And, in doing so, he gave us his definition of marriage.

One Man - One Woman - For Life.

[Max Lucado]

Genesis 2:22-23 … And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Genesis 2:24 … Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Matthew 19:6 … Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Ephesians 5:31-33 … For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

1 Corinthians 7:2-3 … Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.

1 Corinthians 11:11-12 … Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God. ♥

He Knows My Name

When you are having problems and feel there's no help around;
First take one step forward to get to higher ground.
If you think that God doesn't hear you then that is really a shame;
Not only does He hear every prayer you say, He knows you … by your name.

It does not matter just where you are when you call upon the Lord;
He will be listening with a well-tuned ear and will understand every word.
Be ready to listen to what He says as He tell you what to do;
For that will be your instructions because the rest will be up to you.

You should thank Him for His kindness because He was standing by;
and not, as you thought, He had turned away and would never hear your cry.
Even though you have made so many mistakes, He will not hold you to blame;
For now you are fully forgiven. And remember … He knows you by your name.

[Author Unknown]

Isaiah 43:1 … But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

Isaiah 49:16 … Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

John 10:27 … My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

1 Corinthians 8:3 … But if any man love God, the same is known of him. ♥

I Know That My Redeemer Lives

I know that my Redeemer lives!

What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, He lives, who once was dead;
He lives, my ever living Head.

He lives to bless me with His love,
He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed,
He lives to help in time of need.

He lives triumphant from the grave,
He lives eternally to save,
He lives all glorious in the sky,
He lives exalted there on high.

He lives to grant me rich supply,
He lives to guide me with His eye,
He lives to comfort me when faint,
He lives to hear my soul’s complaint.

He lives to silence all my fears,
He lives to wipe away my tears,
He lives to calm my troubled heart,
He lives all blessings to impart.

He lives, my kind, wise, heavenly Friend,
He lives and loves me to the end;
He lives, and while He lives, I’ll sing;
He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King.

He lives and grants me daily breath;
He lives, and I shall conquer death:
He lives my mansion to prepare;
He lives to bring me safely there.

He lives, all glory to His Name!
He lives, my Jesus, still the same.
Oh, the sweet joy this sentence gives,
I know that my Redeemer lives!

Every Word of God

The Word of God well understood and religiously obeyed is the shortest route to spiritual perfection. And we must not select a few favorite passages to the exclusion of others. Nothing less than a whole Bible can make a whole Christian.

[A.W. Tozer]

Matthew 4:4 … But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Proverbs 30:5 … Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 … All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Joshua 1:8 … This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Luke 8:21 … And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it. ♥

Dead in Sin ... Alive in Christ

Jesus did not come into the world to make bad men good. He came into the world to make dead men live!

[Leonard Ravenhill]

Ephesians 2:4-5 ... But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

John 10:10 ... The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

1 Timothy 1:15 ... This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

John 3:16-17 ... For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

1 Corinthians 15:22 ... For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. ♥

Luke 11:10

And to him that knocketh it shall be opened. [Jesus Christ]

Colossians 4:3-4 … Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

Matthew 7:7-8 … Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Psalm 118:19-20 … Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD: This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.

John 10:4 … I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. ♥

The Gospel

It is true that we are sinners–but Christ has suffered for us.
It is true that we deserve death–but Christ has died for us.
It is true that we are guilty debtors–but Christ has paid our debts with His own blood.
This is the real Gospel!
This is the good news!
On this let us lean while we live.
To this let us cling when we die.
Christ has been “lifted up” on the cross, and has thrown open the gates of heaven to all believers.

[J.C. Ryle]

2 Peter 1:11 ... For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 ... Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

John 14:6 … Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. ♥
