The Only Thing That Matters

The only thing that matters in this life is not how much money you made in your lifetime, nor if you married the prettiest girl in school, or had a "name" in life. None of that will even matter when you breathe your last breath. Your wealth, your popularity, your worldly achievements while on earth might have been celebrated, will burn up in the echelon of eternity.

It won't matter how many friends you had, if you were applauded by men, reaping many rewards - none of it will matter. The fact is, the only thing which will count when you give up the ghost is this - were you saved? Did you repent? Was everything right between you and God when your heart stops beating? Your works, all of them, every claim you could boast of will not matter when the sheet is laid over your face, the lid is closed and you are lowered into the ground - none of that will matter.

The only thing which will last was did you have a personal relationship with Christ. We spend too much time investing in tomorrow, when in reality we need to be investing in eternity. Sadly, many never realize this until it's too late. Don't let that happen to you, whether you're 12 or 82, for death comes for all, yet Christ keeps deaths final grip from your soul. Think about it.
