A Compromised Church

The early church: Preach the word!
The 21st century church: Preach the word; only use words if / when necessary.

The early church: Be ready in season and out of season.
The 21st century church: Just focus on love God and love your neighbour.

The early church: Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
The 21st century church: Don’t judge. Don’t criticize. Focus on that which unites, not that which divides.

The early church: For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine.
The 21st century church: The church must move with the times in order to be relevant to the world.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 ... For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 ...  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2 Peter 2:1 ... But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

2 Corinthians 11:4 ... For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
