Know His Word.

If you can learn to stand upon the solid rock of God’s Word in every situation you face, you will not be vulnerable to the crafty distortion of Truth so common today. When you are exposed to human ideas that do not agree with Scripture, you will be much quicker to recognize and renounce them in your soul.

[Leslie Ludy]

Acts 17:11 ... These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Colossians 3:16 ... Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

2 Timothy 2:15 ... Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Fragrant Lives.

Regardless of the reaction of others, one thing is certain: True worship and devotion will make our lives fragrant and will perfume the environment around us. Our homes, our churches, even our places of work will bear the sweet scent of our devotion. Most important, the Lord Jesus will be pleased. And ultimately that is all that really matters.

Hebrews 13:16 ... But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Ephesians 5:2 ...  And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Psalm 29:2 ... Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Grateful Heart

The grateful heart that springs forth in joy is not acquired in a moment; it is the fruit of a thousand choices.

[Nancy Leigh DeMoss]

Psalm 138:1 ... I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.

Real Transformation

Some people are selfish, angry, bitter, or lazy all week long, then they put on a “good Christian” mask before coming to church. But that costume doesn’t make them more like Jesus.

Imagine a little girl in a butterfly costume. It may be cute, but it doesn’t make her a butterfly. On the other hand, when a caterpillar wraps itself in a cocoon and emerges as a butterfly, real transformation has taken place. That’s what Christ offers us real transformation.

Are you ready to be transformed? Take off your mask, confess your sin, and ask God to make you like Jesus.

2 Corinthians 3:18 ...  But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Romans 12:2 ... And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1 John 2:6 ... He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.❤

Your Purpose in Life

There’s one basic issue that will determine how you respond to anything today: What’s your purpose in life? If your goal is to be happy or accepted or loved, then you’ll face a lot of obstacles in meeting it. But if your purpose is to exist for God’s glory, then you can accept whatever comes as part of His plan and purpose. You’ll embrace the hard things knowing that they were designed by God to make you more like Jesus.

Have you settled that issue? Would you say, “Lord, it’s not about me, it’s about You. All that matters is that You are glorified”?

To Surrender ...

To surrender to the Creator's control is not onerous or burdensome. To the contrary, that is the place where stress, struggle, and strain give way to blessing, abundance, and peace. When we are not vying with our Creator for control, life is what the old-time hymn writer describes as "perfect submission, perfect delight.

His Intent

God never intended that we should merely get into His Word.  His intent is that the Word should get into us.

[Nancy Leigh DeMoss]

Ephesians 5:18 ... And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Acts 4:31 ... And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Acts 13:52 ... And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.
Romans 8:9 ... But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

John 3:5 ... Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Mark 1:8 ... I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

2 Corinthians 13:14 ... The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

A Privilege

I never want to become so settled and secure in a home, a job, a social group, or a geographic location that I am not willing to move or change the instant God wants to give me a different assignment. We must count it a privilege to relinquish all temporal security in order to follow Jesus and be eternally secure in Him.

[Nancy Leigh DeMoss]

Luke 12:33 ... Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

2 Corinthians 4:18 ... While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Psalm 4:3 ... But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him.

Choosing Brokenness

Before its impact can be felt in a home, a church, or a nation, revival must first be experienced on a personal level in the hearts of men and women who have encountered God in a fresh way. And the single greatest hindrance to our experiencing personal revival is our unwillingness to humble ourselves and confess our desperate need for His mercy.

[Nancy Leigh DeMoss]

Isaiah 57:15 ... For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Psalm 24:3-5 ... Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?  He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Matthew 5:3 ... Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ❤

Ready For Company

As Christians, we are called to maintain lives that can be "toured" by outsiders at any time, without embarrassment. A commitment to holiness means having a life that is always "ready for company" and open for inspection - a life that can stand up to scrutiny - not just in the obvious things, but in the hidden places where most might not think to look.

[Nancy Leigh DeMoss]

Romans 13:14 ... But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Matthew 5:16 ... Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

1 Peter 2:12 ... Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
