"Dad"

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it.. "Dad"

[Author Unknown]

Hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day!  Praise The LORD!

Our Father

Tried Christian, you are not an orphan! You have a Father! God, in all the glory of his nature and perfections, is your Father! He has adopted you for his own. He has regenerated you by his Spirit. He has called you out of the world, and has promised to do a father's part unto you. He says, "I will be a Father unto you."

Do you need advice? Consult your Father.
Do you need supplies? Ask them of your Father.
Are you tormented with cares? Cast them on your Father.
Are you alarmed at foes? Cry unto your Father.
Do your difficulties appear insurmountable? Appeal to your Father.

God is not merely a Father in name; he has a Father's nature. He not only calls us his sons and daughters, but wishes us to act towards him as such. We should exercise confidence in his love; we should trust in his word; we should appeal to his paternal heart; we should look for our supplies from his hand.

In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, we should let our requests be made known unto God. He loves to see us confide in his care, rely on his word, expect his communications, and acquiesce in his will.

Believer, whatever trials may befall you, whatever troubles may come upon you, whatever enemies may rise up against you, whatever changes may take place in your circumstances, one thing can never befall you, you can never be fatherless; therefore you can never be friendless. You are God's child, however poor your circumstances, or trying your path. What an unspeakable mercy!

[James Smith]

2 Corinthians 6:18 ...  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Romans 8:15-17 ... For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Titus 3:7 ... That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Galatians 4:6 ... And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

A Love Relationship

Christianity is a love relationship between a child of God and his Maker through the Son Jesus Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit.

[Adrian Rogers]

Romans 5:5-6 ... And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.   For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

1 John 4:9-10 ... In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.  Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Romans 8:14-15 ... For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.   For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
1 Corinthians 1:9 ... God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Galatians 3:26 ... For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Happy Father's Day, Abba, Father!

Father's Love

Courtesy is owed.  Respect is earned.  Love is given.

[Kinky Friedman]

from the book: A Guide to Texas Etiquette

John 3:16 ... For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 5:8 ...  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

1 Timothy 2:5-6 ... For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Romans 8:38-39 ... For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ❤

Father's Are Wonderful People

Fathers are wonderful people
Too little understood
And we do not sing their praises
As often as we should.

For, somehow, Father seems to be
The man who pays the bills
While Mother binds up little hurts
And nurses all our ills.

And Father struggles daily
To live up to "his image"
As protector and provider
And "hero of the scrimmage."

And perhaps that is the reason
We sometimes get the notion
That Fathers are not subject
To the thing we call emotion.

But if you look inside Dad's heart
Where no one else can see
You'll find he's sentimental
And as "soft" as he can be.

But he's so busy every day
In the grueling race of life
He leaves the sentimental stuff
To his partner and his wife.

But Fathers are just wonderful
In a million different ways
And they merit loving compliments
And accolades of praise.

For the only reason Dad aspires
To fortune and success
Is to make the family proud of him
And to bring them happiness.

And like Our Heavenly Father
He's a guardian and a guide
Someone that we can count on
To be always on our side.

On My Father's Side

❤ And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. Luke 2:46-47
