One Leaf.

During the season of fall we are reminded with all the beautiful changing leaves just how short life here on earth truly is. We need to remember that we may be only one leaf , But, God didn't put us here to just hang on a tree but to color this world with His light through each one of your BEAUTIFUL souls!

[Brown Eagle]

1 Corinthians 10:31 ... Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Isaiah 40:8 ... The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Hearing God.

It is in the silence and the stillness that we slow down enough to hear the heart of God!

Family Time.

Hearts that are drawn together at God's feet every day in family devotions cannot drift very far away from each other. The domestic frictions of the day are forgotten  when all voices mingle in the same heavenly song.  As the tender words of Scripture fall with their gracious counsels, all feeling of unkindness melts away. The family altar in the midst wondrously hallows and sweetens the whole home.

Besides, the family altar puts new strength into every heart, comforts all sorrows, is a shield against temptation, smooths out the wrinkles of care, inspires strength for burden-bearing, quickens every holy sentiment, and keeps the fires of devotion burning on every heart's altar.

[J.R. Miller]

1 John 1:7 ... But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Seek Him.

Let us seek the grace of a cheerful heart, an even temper, sweetness, gentleness, and brightness of mind, as walking in His light, and by His grace. Let us pray to Him to give us the spirit of ever-abundant, ever-springing love, which overpowers and sweeps away the vexations of life by its own richness and strength, and which, above all things, unites us to Him who is the Fountain and the Centre of all mercy, loving-kindness, and joy.

[John Henry Newman]

Matthew 6:33 ... But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Be Certain

With all of the uncertainty in the world, covid19, government corruption, election fraud, civil unrest, etc., there is one thing that you can be certain of: Jesus Christ. He does not change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) Put your faith in the Lord.

John 14:1 ... Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

The Most Precious Thing

In giving Christ to die for poor sinners, God gave the richest jewel in His cabinet; a mercy of the greatest worth, and most inestimable value.

Heaven itself is not so valuable and precious as Christ is! Ten thousand thousand worlds as many worlds as angels can number, would not outweigh Christ's love, excellency and sweetness! O what a lovely One! What an excellent, beautiful, ravishing One is Christ!

Put the beauty of ten thousand paradises, like the garden of Eden, into one; put all flowers, all fragrances, all colors, all tastes, all joys, all sweetness, all loveliness into one; O what a lovely and excellent thing would that be!

And yet it should be less to that loveliest and dearest well-beloved Christ than one drop of rain compared to all the seas, rivers, lakes, and fountains of ten thousand earths!

Now, for God to bestow the mercy of mercies, the most precious thing in heaven or earth, upon poor sinners; and, as great, as lovely, as excellent as His Son was what kind of love is this!

[Lettie Cowman]

Romans 5:8 ...  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

My Desired Text At My Funeral

Oh! when shall I ascend to the eternal throne of blessedness, where no comforts are lacking? When shall I be covered with the glorious robe of immortality, and shine in the brightness of my Redeemer's innocence?

When shall I behold the lovely face of my Lord and dwell in the courts of His holy temple, where all tears shall be wiped away from my eyes, all sorrows removed from my heart, and all sins and spots are done away? Where I shall exchange the dross of this world, for true and durable riches! Where, instead of these earthly riches which moth and rust corrupt, I shall enjoy the heavenly riches of perfect peace and good conscience, never to be lost!

Instead of these false and flattering honors, I shall enjoy everlasting glory, and be admitted into the fellowship of my Redeemer to reign with Him in His glorious kingdom! Instead of vain and momentary pleasures, I shall be filled with fullness of joy and be ravished with those delights which neither eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man to conceive! Instead of this dark and cloudy knowledge, I shall have my heart enlightened with the beams of the true light! Instead of this feeble strength, I shall be endowed with the might of angels! Instead of this transitory health, I shall enjoy a powerful and immortal vigor! Instead of this fading beauty, I shall be adorned with the loveliness of Christ's spouse! Instead of long life, I shall be crowned with life eternal!

We shall sing, Holy! Holy! Holy! Lord God almighty! Heaven and Earth are full of your glory. Glory be to You, O Lord, most High.

And now, as the deer pants for the water-brooks, so longs my soul after You, O God! O that I had wings like a dove, that I might fly away and be at rest! For whom have I in Heaven but You and who is there upon earth that I desire but You? My heart and my strength fail me, but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever!

[John Whitson]

The Gospel in a Map

My child,
Behold, I give Myself to you, and all things with Myself.
I will be all to you that you can wish. I will be a FRIEND to you. My secrets shall be with you, and you shall have free access to Me, and liberty to pour out all your heart into My bosom.

I am the everlasting Father, and I will be a FATHER to you. Behold, I receive you not as a servant, but as a son to abide in My house forever. Whatever love or care children may look for from their father, that you may expect from Me, and so much more since I am wiser, greater, and better than any earthly parents. If earthly fathers will give good things to their children, much more will I give to you. If such cannot forget their children, much less will I forget you. What would My children have? Your Father's heart, His house, His care, His ear, His bread, and His rod? These shall all be yours!

You shall have My fatherly affection. My heart I share with you. My tenderest loves I bestow upon you. You shall have My fatherly compassion. As a father pities his children, so will I pity you. I will consider your frame, and not be extreme to mark what is done amiss by you, but will cover all with the mantle of My pitying love. I will be your Comforter in your solitude, your Counselor in your distress.

I will be a PHYSICIAN to you. I will heal your backslidings and cure all your diseases. Fear not, for never did a soul miscarry that left itself in My hands, and would follow My prescriptions.

I will be a SHEPHERD to you. Do not be afraid of evil tidings, for I am with you. My rod and My staff shall comfort you. You shall not lack, for I will feed you; you shall not wander or be lost, for I will restore you. I will cause you to lie down in green pastures, and will lead you beside the still waters. I will gather you with My arm, carry you in My bosom, and will lead you softly. I will bind up that which was broken, and strengthen you when sick. I will watch over My flock by night. My own eyes shall keep a perpetual watch by night and by day. The Keeper of Israel never slumbers nor sleeps, nor withdraws His eyes from the righteous. I will guide you with My eye. I will never trust you out of My sight.

I will be a HUSBAND to you. In loving-kindness and mercy I will betroth you unto Myself forever. I will embrace your interest, and will be as one with you, and you with Me. You shall be for Me and not for another; and I also will be for you. Though I found you as a helpless infant, exposed in its own blood, all your unworthiness did not discourage Me. Lo, I have looked upon you, and put My loveliness upon you. Moreover, I swear unto you, and enter into covenant with you, and you shall be Mine. Behold, I do here solemnly, in My marriage covenant, give away Myself to you, and with Myself all things. I will be an everlasting portion to you. Now lift up your eyes to the east, to the west, to the north, and to the south. Have you not a worthy portion, a goodly heritage?

Can you fathom your riches or count your own happiness? Can you grasp immensity, reach omnipotence, or comprehend eternity? All this is yours! I will set open all My treasures to you, and will keep back nothing from you.

I will be a never failing fountain of joy, peace, and bliss unto you! I will be your God, your Father, and your Friend as long as I have any being. I have made My everlasting choice in electing you. Fear not, for the eternal God is your refuge, and underneath you are the everlasting arms. My unsearchable riches shall be yours. Though all should forsake you, yet I will never forsake you!

I am your rock and your fortress, your deliverer, your strength, the horn of your salvation, and your high tower.

I am God Almighty, your almighty Protector, your almighty Benefactor! My fullness is your treasure. My house is your home. You may come as freely to My store as to your own cupboard. You may have your hand as freely in My treasures as in your own purses. You cannot ask too much; you cannot look for too much from Me. I will give you (or will be Myself to you instead of) all comforts. You shall have children, or I will be better to you than ten children. You shall have riches, or I will be more to you than all riches.

Can you put out the lamp of heaven, or empty the boundless ocean with your hands? Why, the sun shall be dark and the sea dry before the Father of lights, the Fountain of mercies shall be exhausted. My infiniteness shall be the extent of your inheritance! I am your inheritance, which no line can measure, no arithmetic can compute, and no surveyor can describe.

But all this is but a taste of what I have prepared!

You must have but smiles and hints now, and be content with glimpses and glances here on earth. But you shall be shortly taken up into your Father's bosom and live forever in the fullest views of His glory!

The day of your death, shall be the birthday of your glories!

[Joseph Alleine]

Sign Here!!

Dear Christian reader, seek some quiet spot, some still hour, and yield yourself to God.

Make a definite consecration of yourselves to God. With most it would be sufficient to write out Miss Havergal's hymn, "Take my life, and let it be," and to sign your name at the bottom.

Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands and let them move at the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee.

Take my voice and let me sing always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be filled with messages from Thee.
Take my silver and my gold not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use every power as Thou shalt choose.

Take my will and make it Thine it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is Thine own it shall be Thy royal throne.
Take my love my Lord, I pour at Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself and I will be ever, only, all for Thee!

Flutter By ...

Butterflies have predators!
As lovely as the butterfly is, there are other little creatures out there that prey on it. There are wasps, birds, snakes, and frogs to name just a few.

When we have that new life in Christ, we have a predator too. Just like the butterfly needs to be aware of his surroundings and how its predators can attack him, so do we as Christians. The devil is out there and he is seeking us out. He's our "adversary".

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.   1 Peter 5:8

Butterflies Need The Sun.
Butterflies can't fly if their temperature is less than 86°  They cannot produce heat on their own and butterflies must rely on the sun to heat up their wings in order for them to move about. They have strong muscles but they can't fly without the sun to warm their bodies first.

I used to wonder why I'd see butterflies sometimes sitting on a branch, just sitting there, almost not moving for a very long time, with maybe just a slight movement of the wings. Apparently they were soaking up the sun in order to take flight.

Wow!  That is how we are as Christians. We can't do things on our own. We need the "Son" to warm us as well. We don't move along very well in our own strength, do we? We have to rely on the Lord's strength and guidance before we can accomplish anything.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.  Philippians 4:13

Butterflies Can See Ultraviolet Light.
Did you know that the butterfly has the ability to see things we humans cannot see? They have the ability to see ultraviolet light which helps vividly guide them so they can find nectar to drink.

As Christians we have a special eyesight as well and we can see things others don't. Sometimes those without Christ just don't understand us Christians. We have the ability to see with the eyes of faith.

I think of all of those heroes of faith in Hebrews chapter 11 and all the things that happened because of their faith.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Growth in Grace

One of the remarkable things about growth in grace is that the more you grow, the smaller you become in your own eyes.

In the first epistle Paul ever wrote, he was "the least of all apostles."

He later wrote to the Ephesians that he was "less than the least of all the saints."

Shortly before his death he wrote to Timothy, "I am the chief of sinners."

[Todd Nibert]

1 Corinthians 15:9 ... For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

Ephesians 3:8 ... Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

1 Timothy 1:15 ... This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Romans 7:24-25 ...  O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
2 Peter 3:18 ... But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.❤

The Master of The World

The God of the Bible is the Supreme Being in the universe. He is "the Highest." He is over all; He is the most High, higher than the highest. He has no superiors and no equals. He speaks through the pen of Isaiah: "To whom will you liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be alike? . Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me" (Isaiah 46:5, 9). It is absurd to compare God with any creature, for God is infinitely above the noblest creature.

[Milburn Cockrell]

Psalm 18:31 ... For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock save our God?

Psalm 147:5 ... Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

Job 37:23 ... Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

Isaiah 40:26 ...  Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.❤

Two Sinners

She stood beside me as we worshipped our Lord.  I didn't know her.  She didn't know me. Together, the love in our hearts spilled out through our lips.

With arms held high, she reached for God. With eyes closed tight, she entered the throne room of Heaven. Her shallow face, unable to hide years of heartache and sorrow, glowed with a radiance of one in His presence.  Her body, feeble and weak from years of mistreatment and abuse, stood strong and bold as she poured out her adoration.

Somehow, I felt strangely out of place; as though I was intruding on a sacred moment, a communion of two hearts. One who loved from her soul, the other the Lover of her soul.

As we sang, she cried; tears flowing from her eyes as praise flowed from her heart. The song continued:

What's going on inside me?
I despise my own behaviour.
This only serves to confirm my suspicion
I'm still a man in need of a Saviour.

Upon hearing these words, she reached over, grabbed my arm, shaking it with every emotion flooding through her veins and proclaimed, "This is MY song. That's me!"

The sinner in me could not longer deny this truth either. My own tears now streamed down my face as I, too, proclaimed, "This is MY song, too. That's me. That's all of us. We are ALL sinners."

She stood beside me as we worshipped our Lord. I didn't know her. She didn't know me.

Two different lives. Two different stories.

Two sinners. Both in need of a Saviour.

Two sinners. Both saved by His Grace.

[Heartprints of God]

Walk On

We walk on through the pains, through our scars that stare at oneself and others.

We walk on through the fears, the tears, loneliness and misunderstandings.
We walk on through the dark times, times of abandonment and left for dead.
We walk on.

We walk on into the Joy and total fulfillment, the peace that passes all understanding.
We walk on into the miraculous provisions, the times and seasons of rejoicing, the birth of new things and new life.

We walk on into a life that truly only you can really understand and experience, such intimacy with the Father of all Fathers.
We walk on loving our enemies and even seeing them bless us in the end.

We walk on forgiving freely.

We walk on breathing the life that is above and beyond all one could ever think or imagine.

We walk on, yes, we walk on.

You must walk on, do not quit now.

Walk on.

[Author Unknown]

Colossians 2:6 ... As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

Isaiah 30:21 ... And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Romans 6:4 ... Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

1 John 2:6 ...  He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Ephesians 2:10 ... For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Be BOLD!

Boldness is used in Scripture as a measure of faith.  The more you exercise your faith in God, the bolder you will be in your Christian walk with the Lord.  Lay aside all doubt.  Believe and be bold. Be bold in Christ! Amen. RL.

Hebrews 10:19 … Having therefore, brethren, BOLDNESS to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

1 Timothy 3:13 … For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great BOLDNESS in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 4:16 … Let us therefore come BOLDLY unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Acts 4:31 … And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with BOLDNESS.

1 John 4:17 … Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have BOLDNESS in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Proverbs 28:1 … The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are BOLD as a lion.

Seven Things God Wants You to Know About Yourself

Your true identity can’t be found by “looking within yourself” for the answers. Our identity can only be found by looking to the One who Created us. Here are seven important principles God wants you to know about Yourself:

1. You are loved. One of the most mind-blowing realities the Bible teaches is that the God of the universe loves us! He loves you so much He sent His only Son Jesus to rescue you and bring you home. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  John 3:16

2. You need Jesus. He desires to be the Savior of your soul, the leader of your life, your guide and your friend. Without Him, your life will never be what God intended it to be. With Him, you can experience all God has for you. Jesus did not come to make you religious; He came to make you alive! “Jesus answered, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”  John 14:6

3. You are a masterpiece. You might not feel like it, but how you feel doesn’t change who you are! God’s sees you as a one-in-a-trillion priceless masterpiece created in His own image. The Mona Lisa has got nothing on you!  “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”  Ephesians 2:10

4. You are forgiven. Once you trust Jesus for forgiveness, your sins are no longer counted against you, so don’t live in regret! You are not defined by what you’ve done. God never measures our value by what we’ve done or by what’s been done to us, but by what He has done for us on the cross. God’s grace takes away our sin and makes us a new creation so we can live in freedom and peace. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  1 John 1:9

5. You are not alone. We all have those moments where we feel lonely and abandoned, but even in your darkest hour, God is with you. He has never left your side and He never will.  God has said, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”  Hebrews 13:5

6. You are part of God’s family. Our faith in Christ brings us adoption into God’s family.  You are literally a son or daughter of God and an heir in His eternal kingdom. “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:”  1 John 3:1

7. You have a home in heaven. Jesus is preparing a place just for you.   A perfect place awaits where the trouble and pain of this life will be no more and you’ll celebrate forever with your Savior and all of God’s family!  “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”  John 14:1-3

The Old Warrior

One thing that the youth of generation has lost is a genuine respect for their elders. This unfortunate fact is even found in the church (Apostolic and otherwise). Part of the blame is the liberal agenda at public schools. Part of the blame can be found in global multi-media, where access to unwholesome and unnecessary information is easily accessible to children and minors. Parents are partially to blame for allowing disrespect. There are multiple reasons why. But the pitiful fact is that the youth don’t rise up before the hoary head anymore. They don’t honor the face of the old man. And, as a result, they have forgotten how to truly fear (revere, respect) Almighty God.

[message from the Internet]

Leviticus 19:32 ... Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.

Exodus 20:12 ... Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

Proverbs 20:29 ... The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head.

Proverbs 1:7 ... The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. ❤

His Sweetest Constraint

Believers in Yeshua Jesus are under the sweetest and strongest constraint to do what we do. It is not the fear of going to hell or the desire for reward that compels Believers to serve God. The everlasting love of Christ led Him to redeem us by His life, His death, and His resurrection. This love is shed abroad in our hearts. Believers are motivated by the love of Christ --- His love for us and our love for Him. Amen. ℛℒ

1 John 4:19 … We love him, because he first loved us.

Ephesians 2:4-5 … But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Galatians 2:20 … I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

2 Thessalonians 2:16 … Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 … For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. ♥

Because of HIM

God does not love us because of our goodness, or because of our kindness, or because of our faith. God loves us because of HIS goodness, because of HIS kindness, and because of HIS great faith! Selah. ℛℒ.

Psalm 31:19 … Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

Ephesians 2:7 … That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

1 John 4:10 … Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. ♥

Jesus is our Lord and our SAVIOUR

Following Yeshua Jesus means that sometimes we may have to get out of our boat and leave of our comfort zone. Jesus is not always in the boat. Sometimes He is out on the waves in the storm. As believers, we must have faith that Jesus will sustain us and hold us up. We must believe that Jesus will save us. We must believe that Jesus is our Lord and our SAVIOUR --- The Lord will not let us sink! ℛℒ

Matthew 14:25-31 … And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? ♥
