A New Creation!!

Whenever anyone is saved by the sovereign grace of God and regenerated by the Holy Spirit he becomes a new creation in Christ.  This is not a mere moral improvement, nor a religious reformation, nor the adoption of a more wholesome lifestyle but a supernatural work of the Spirit, producing a new nature. Having experienced this miracle of salvation, this new man now has new views, new ambitions, new convictions, new desires, new notions, new hopes, new dreads, new pleasures, new aims, new principles, new affections, new joys, and new pursuits. Everything about him is changed. He does, as it were, live in a new world! He was once spiritually dead, enslaved to sin, governed by the flesh, blind to truth, and hostile to God!

Now, his affections are changed he loves what he once hated and hates what he once loved! Now, his mind is renewed he no longer sees life through the lens of popular culture, but through the lens of Scripture. Now, his will is liberated he longs to do the will of God, though not without struggle. Though sin still remains in his flesh, it no longer reigns in his life. The believer is brought into a new realm: from darkness to light; from death to life; from the kingdom of Satan to the kingdom of God. He is adopted as God's child, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and sealed for the day of redemption. In Christ, every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms is now his! 

His past is forgiven, his present is transformed, and his future is secured. But the glory of this new creation lies not in the man himself, but in the One who made him new. Just as the original creation displayed the majesty of God, so this new creation displays the greatness of His sovereignty, mercy, and grace. Christian, never forget who you are--you are not what you once were. And though you are not yet what you will be--you are already made new in Christ. Let this truth humble you, encourage you, and move you to walk in newness of life, to the glory of God!

The Believer's Perfection

Feeling fully what I am in myself, and proving afresh that "in my flesh dwells no good thing" (Romans 7:18) in this sad state I fly to Jesus as my only refuge! 

Oh, that the depth of my sin and misery may be overcome by His rich grace, that with Mary I may weep at His dear feet, and love much, having much forgiven. While in the body we shall never be free from sin. I had been looking for something from and in my flesh which the Word of God does not warrant me to expect. "That which is born of the flesh is flesh" (John 3:6) and ever will be! 

The believer's perfection is in Christ. Oh, that He may condescend to teach me, and lead me to look straight out of self to a glorious Christ!

O For a Thankful Heart!

What tremendous cause we have to be thankful what marvelous reasons we have to be grateful! We are surrounded by mercies, both temporal and spiritual. If we look back, we ought to rejoice that God has chosen us in Christ Jesus before the foundation of the world; He sent His only-begotten Son into the world, to be an atoning sacrifice for our sins; He sent His Holy Spirit into our hearts, to convince us of sin, lead us to Jesus, and make us fit for Heaven! We have . . . His Word in our hands, His grace in our hearts, His mercies in our houses, His Heaven before our eyes! O for a thankful heart! Let us take our poor, hard, ungrateful hearts to Jesus, He can soften them and fill them with gratitude! Let us confess our ingratitude before Him and mourn over our un-thankfulness at His feet. 

O Jesus, grant us a deep sense of our utter unworthiness, and of Your unmerited goodness that our souls may daily praise You with joyful lips! May we live as thankful dependents on Your gracious bounty; as grateful, loving children, before our Father and our God and daily be thankful. Through all eternity, to You, A joyful song I'll raise; But O eternity's too short, to utter all Your praise!

Sin Always Hunts in Packs!

One sin ruined our whole race. One fruit plucked from the forbidden tree, hurled mankind from his pristine glory. The effect of that one sin, has gone on rankling in our blood through six thousand years, and will go on when years cease to be counted, destroying men throughout an eternity of woe if it is not first forgiven and purged from them. The results of this one original sin are dreadful to think about. 

See what harm sin causes. One sin has often ruined a whole church. Achan committed only one sin and caused the whole nation of Israel to be defeated. There are poisons so potent, that one drop will envenom the whole body. One leak in a ship, may be sufficient to sink it to the bottom. One lone rock may break the staunchest timbers of a gallant warship. We must realize that one sin never comes alone. Sin always hunts in packs! 

If you see one of these wolves, then you may be certain that a countless company will follow at its heels. For instance, note Adam's sin in the Garden of Eden, in taking a forbidden fruit. What was the essence of that one sin? It would not be difficult to maintain the thesis that Adam's sin was pride, or that it was discontent, or that it was lust, or unbelief, or indeed almost any other sin you would like to name. It was a many-sided transgression. That demon's name was Legion, "for they were many." (Mark 5:9) Sin's whole brood was hatched out of one egg! This original sin had all other sins in its loins. We must never think of indulging one sin, for it will bring in many others more wicked than itself. 

He who sports with one sin, will soon come to play with more, and go from bad to worse. A thief who cannot get in at the front door because he finds it locked, tries the back door, and then the windows, and then he finds a window so small, that it was not fastened because no full-grown man could enter by it. Hence, he puts a little child through it, and that is quite enough, for the little one can unlock the door and let in as many thieves as he will! 

In the same way, one sin allowed to run riot in the soul, will prepare the heart for such vile transgressions which he could never have dreamed of. There are no "little sins". They appear small in their infancy, but they will be giants when they come to their full growth. Men do not become abominable sinners all at once, but one sin opens the way for many worse sins. One sin nursed, grows into crime! 

Jesus never overlooked any one of our sins, but for every sin He wept, and groaned, and bled, and died. Our sins were His murderers, and shall we indulge them? Shall we harbor those who spit in His dear face, and pierced His blessed side? There is no argument so powerful for the Christian to mortify his sins, as the astonishing love of Christ for him. Beloved, will you grieve the Lord who bought you? Will you distress Him whose heart bled for you? By all the charms of His matchless beauty, and the flames of His quenchless love, I charge you to be chaste to your soul's Bridegroom and drive out the vile rivals which would steal your hearts and defile you. Let Calvary be the gallows of all your sins!

Black as Night, and As Hideous as Hell!

Oh, that blessed word all. It includes willful sins and unintentional sins, sins against gospel light, sins against the love of God, sins wantonly perpetrated, sins against man and against God, sins of body and of soul, sins of thought and word and deed, sins of every rank and character, sins as immense as the sea all, all are removed, no matter how many, or how vile they are! 

What comfort there is here for every believer! However heinous your sins may be, there is a sin-offering which cleanses away every sin. However, you may have defiled yourselves, though you are as black as night, and as hideous as Hell yet there is power in the sin-atoning blood of the incarnate God to make you as white as newly fallen snow! 

What a joy it is to think, not only has Christ put away my sin; but now for me, He is a sweet savor to God, and I am for His sake accepted; for His sake beloved; for His sake delighted in; for His sake precious unto God. The immaculate Christ has died, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. Washed once in the fountain opened for sin and for impurity there shall remain upon you no trace of guilt!

Some of Us Like That Eagle!!

A gentleman had an eagle which had been caught when young and brought up in a cage like a domestic bird. At length the owner was going away over the sea and decided to give the eagle its freedom. So, he brought it out of its cage, and it walked about, but seemed to have no thought whatever of flying away. 

The gentleman was disappointed. At length he lifted the great bird to the garden wall. It stood there a moment, and then looked up toward the sun. It seemed suddenly to remember that it was an eagle, whose home was amid the crags and the cliffs. A moment more and it lifted one wing, then the other, and was gone soaring away into the blue of the sky! 

Some of us like that eagle, shut up in the cage, using only its feet, not knowing it had wings, and that its true home was in the heavens. Let us lift up our eyes to the heavens there is our home. We were made for God. Let us try our soul's wings; we were made to fly! It is a desecration of life to live amid the dust when we were created for flights in the blue heavens!

Prove It!!

It is related that the famous French artist Gustave Dore was once wandering in the mountains of Switzerland, when some officials met him and demanded his passport. "I do not have it with me," he replied, "but my name is Gustave Dore." "Prove it, if you are," replied the officers, knowing who Dore was but not believing that this was he. Taking a piece of paper, the artist hastily sketched a group of peasants who were standing near and did it with such grace and skill that the officials exclaimed, "Enough, you are Dore!" 

In the same way, the world cares little for a mere profession. We say we are Christians, and the challenge is, "Prove it!" If we are of Christ, then we must do the works of Christ, live the life of Christ, and show the spirit of Christ. The artist's skillful drawing proved his identity. Just so, we must prove that we are the followers of our Master by the love, the grace, the beauty, the holiness of our life. Religion is not merely a matter of creed and profession, or of church-going and public worship; it is far more a matter of daily life. It is not how we behave on Sundays, nor the kind of creed we hold, nor the devoutness of our worship it is the way we act at home, in school, in business, in society, in our associations with others. 

It is vitally important that all who profess Christ shall manifest Christ's beauty in their life and character. It is not enough to preach the gospel in words alone; others must also read it in our daily life.

A House Without Light!

Our earthly fire, when it burns it shines, it casts a light. It has light as well as heat in it. But the fire of hell burns but it does not shine, it gives no light at all. It retains
the property of burning but it has lost the property of shining. Christ calls it "outer darkness," or utter darkness that is, darkness beyond a darkness.

Light is a blessing that shall never shine into that infernal prison. In Jude verse 6, you read of "chains of darkness." It would be a little ease, a little comfort, to the damned in hell if they might have but light and liberty to walk up and down the infernal coasts; but this is too high a favor for them to enjoy; and therefore, they shall be shackled and fettered down in chains of darkness, and in blackness of darkness so that they may fully undergo the scorching's and burnings of divine wrath and fury forever and ever.

In Jude verse 13 you thus read, "To whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever." The words signify exceeding great darkness. Hell is a very dark and dismal region, and extreme are the miseries, horrors, and torments which are there. Sinners, when they are in hell, when they are in chains of darkness, when they
are in blackness of darkness they shall never more see light! Hell is a house without light!

Though our earthly fires have light as well as heat, yet the infernal fire has only heat to burn sinners; it has no light to refresh sinners; and this will be no small addition
to their torment.

No Cradle Holds an Innocent One!

Adam fell, man's heart became entirely corrupt. "Every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time!" "Every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood." (Genesis 6:5, 8:21)  

Now, corruption can only propagate corruption. When evil fills the heart, evil effects will soon appear. From tainted sources, tainted waters flow. The root proclaims the qualities of its fruit. When poison permeates the veins, the whole body sickens. The parent reproduces his own likeness. Hence every child is born in sin. No cradle holds an innocent one! Each offspring of the human family comes into the world dead towards God, corrupt in heart, prone to iniquity, void of all righteousness, a willing slave of his father, Satan, blinded in intellect, a pilgrim towards a diabolical land, a vessel fitted for destruction! 

His heart has many tenants, but God is no longer there. The palace once so fair, is now overrun with weeds. Like Babylon in ruins, wild beasts of the wilderness roam there, and the houses are full of doleful creatures. (Isaiah 13:21, 22) May this darksome picture scare you from delusion's dream! 

Reader, surely such is your birth state! Has your soul realized the dreadful truth? Has the life-giving Spirit quickened you with regenerating might? Are you a new creation in Christ Jesus? If so, then surely you will praise God for His marvelous mercy and grace in saving you.

Pride Month

If the god you follow is okay with Gay Pride, then you are following a FALSE god that you have made up in your mind.


God is NOT okay with "pride month" and neither should we be!




1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ... Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? "Work"

Nothing helps more to develop the transfigured life in us, than work. Some people chafe because they have so much to do. Their days are filled from morning to night with dreary, monotonous task-work. With men it is the never-ending work of the farm, the office, the store, the shop, the mill. With women it is the thousand duties of the household, the care of the home, the tending of children, the weary chores of domestic life. 

There are many people who think their greatest obstacle in the way of spiritual growth and transformed character is in the drudgeries to which they are indentured by their condition. They imagine that if they could be freed from these and could have leisure for reading, for study, and for fellowship then they would grow into far more radiant beauty of character. But this is a mistaken impression. The only one perfect life the world has ever known, was not spent with a book but with a hammer and a saw! 

The school of common task-work, with its perpetual round of dreary duties is the best place in the world in which to attain noble spiritual culture. There is no other way in which one's life will be so surely, and so quickly transfigured as in the faithful, cheerful doing of every-day tasks. We need to remember that this world is not so much a place for doing things as for developing character. 

Household life is not primarily a sphere for good cooking, tidy keeping of rooms, thorough sweeping and dusting, careful nursing and training of children, hospitable entertainment of friends, and the thousand things that must be done each day. It is a sphere for transforming women's souls into radiant beauty. The shop, the mill, the factory, the store, the office, the farm are not primarily places for making machines, selling goods, weaving cloths, building engines, and growing crops. They are, first of all, places for making men, building character, growing souls. 

Right in the midst of what some people call drudgery is the very best place to get the transformed, transfigured life! The doing of common tasks patiently, promptly, faithfully, cheerfully makes the character beautiful and bright!

🛑 A Christian Who Warns ...

A Christian who warns is so misunderstood.

A Christian who tells hard truths is often isolated and doesn’t have folks giving them accolades or telling them they are amazing people. They are oftentimes met with silence from the world and even fellow Christians. Although they are strong in their faith and don’t require those things because they are doing their best to walk in obedience and faithfulness to God, it is a hard journey. 

What people don’t see is that many of those “hard truths” are things that God has dealt with them in their own lives about that they have also faced painful truths that they have had to surrender to. That they are preaching to themselves many times. What people don’t see is the burden of souls that weighs heavily on their hearts and minds, and the tears that are wept for those they see in the cross hairs of the devil’s traps. They don’t see how that Christian mourns the state of the Church, which they dearly love. 

How every day the thought of souls going to an eternal hell fills them with pain and dread. Sleepless nights, waking many times with the urge to pray sometimes over someone specific, sometimes over all of it in general. What most people see as hateful, judging words of intolerance is actually a soldier of the cross who is seeing the thick dark blanket of evil being drawn over their beloved family, their beloved church, their beloved country, and the whole world without so much as an objection from most. 

It’s like seeing those you love on a railroad track with a train racing down the track, blaring its horn towards them, and you are the only one who seems to see it. You are desperately waving your arms, screaming, even trying to physically push them off the track with tears rolling down your face, and all they do is ignore you, scoff at you. When you say you want to love people like Christ loves them, this is what that love looks like. 

For the Christian who warns and who tells hard truths, keep yelling, keep weeping over them, keep waving your arms. Continue to let the Holy Spirit lead and guide you. Don’t give up no matter how hard it gets! If just one steps out of the way of that oncoming train, it will all be worth it.

Say, Is Not This Lovely?

Great and rich believers, along with lowly and poor believers are all one in Christ and are equal with each other!  The same confessions of sin, however humiliating they may proceed equally from the hearts of all. The same petitions for grace, for mercy, for strength are asked by all. The same devout gratitude for spiritual blessings is poured forth by all. The Word is pronounced with the same authority to all, and entire submission to it is required from them all. The same exceedingly great and precious promises are guaranteed to them all. The same priceless inheritance is reserved in Heaven for all who by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, receive and obey the Gospel. 

View both rich and poor believers, sitting down together at the table of the Lord as guests equally invited, and equally accepted by the great Master of the feast! All eating of the same bread; all drinking of the same cup; all receiving into their souls, the same divine blessings. Say, is not this lovely? Is it not a true picture of Heaven itself, where the poor beggar Lazarus, whose sores the dogs once licked, because he had not a friend to bind them up now sits down with all the Prophets and Apostles of the Lord at the marriage supper of the Lamb! Yes! 

Thus, it is in the Church below. The rich and the poor meet together, for the Lord is the Redeemer of them all, the Father of them all, the Friend of them all, the portion of them all! In Christ's church on earth, both poor and rich are all in a measure poor in spirit, mournful over their sinfulness, meek and humble, hungering and thirsting for righteousness, merciful, pure in heart, holy and Christly! 

In the body of Christ, there is no place for despising the poor, or envying the rich as the same honor and blessedness belong to all!

What is Christianity?

Christianity centers in the glorious Person of Christ! The aim and purpose of every Scripture truth is to fix the eye on Christ Himself! 

He is the Alpha and Omega of Christianity. From Him proceeds every ray of spiritual light. To Him all believing hearts are drawn. The Christian finds consolation and strength only in Him. Every motive for Christian living is from Him. The glorious privileges which Christians possess, can only be enjoyed from union and communion with Him. Their highest standard of duty is to follow His footsteps, and to walk even as He walked. 

Christianity, in fact, is Christ! It is Christ in the Scriptures, Christ in the Manger, Christ on the Cross, Christ, the Risen One, Christ, the Ascended One, Christ, the Prophet, the Priest, the King, Christ in His Glorious appearing, to be revealed from Heaven with His mighty angels! All our trust, all our love, all our obedience, is due to Him! The more the eye and the heart is turned fully towards Him the more true and genuine is our Christianity.

The Mighty Sum!

David penned Psalm and gave it to the church, as a memorial of God's unbounded mercy and faithfulness towards him. Here we see what the subjects of our daily contemplation should be. Like David, we have numberless blessings from God's hands. Could we realize but one half of the mercies we have received, we would be overwhelmed with wonder and astonishment! 

From our youth up, even to the present moment, God's care of us has been unintermitted, and His interpositions truly wonderful. But still greater has been His care for our souls. Behold the multitudinous blessings of salvation which He has given to us; truly their number surpasses knowledge! How inestimable are our numberless mercies! Who can ever declare the value of pardon or peace, or holiness or eternal glory? 

Go down to the dread abodes of Hell and see the misery of unpardoned sin! Or go up to the regions of bliss in Heaven and see the joys that are at God's right hand for evermore! Or ponder the state of God's redeemed people here on earth, and contrast the liberty enjoyed by His children with the bondage endured by the slaves of Satan! Then you will see what unspeakable obligations we owe to God for His electing, redeeming, and regenerating grace! How incalculable is the price which Jesus paid for our numberless mercies! 

"You know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed. It was with the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God!" (1 Peter 1:18-19)

In comparison with this, ten thousand worlds would have been a worthless sacrifice. How inconceivable is the cost which Jesus paid for our salvation! All the angels in Heaven could not count the mighty sum! All of our unsearchable mercies are the fruits of God's Sovereign Grace! And all are bestowed on the very chief of sinners. Yes, all of them are not only unmerited by us, but unsought! 

They were not given to us according to our works, but according to God's purpose and grace, which He purposed from all eternity in Christ Jesus our Lord! It seems astonishing, that men so indebted to their God, should be able to find time for everything but praise. David in his Psalms, sets a good example for us, "I will extol You, my God, O king; and I will bless Your name forever and ever!" (Psalm 145:1)

 Let us only learn to rightly appreciate the mercies which we have received, and there will be no bounds to our gratitude, and no end to our praise! David said, "My mouth shall tell of your righteousness and your salvation all day long!" (Psalm 71:15) How unlike David are the generality of professors! What other subject of conversation can we ever find so interesting, so useful, so worthy of a rational being and, above all, so suitable to a redeemed soul! 

The apostles "preached to men the unsearchable riches of Christ!" (Ephesians 3:8) So filled with this subject was the apostle Paul, that "he resolved to know nothing except Jesus Christ and Him crucified!"(1 Corinthians 2:2)   This subject is utterly inexhaustible! In it "are contained all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge!" (Colossians 2:3)

One Church, One Body

God did not call us to be faithful to a church, whether it’s your church, my church, or any other church. He called us to be faithful to him alone. 

Churches come and go, institutions are built by men to test the loyalty of their people, all by manipulation. We are not Roman Catholic’s. Just be faithful to your Heavenly Father and be good to one another. 

Some will argue their religious mindset, but the truth is, we, you and I, are the church. Buildings will eventually crumble, but the body endures eternal.
