More than Enough!!

Trust in Him. The Lord will provide.

Mark 6:35-42 ...

And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed: Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.  He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat.

And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat? He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.

And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass. And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties. And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.

And they did all eat, and were filled.

Trust The Lord!!

He will NEVER FAIL! That’s why we trust Him! To trust in anything else guarantees total failure!  Trust in the Lord every day!

He Knows the Way!!

My Father’s way may twist and turn My heart may throb and ache,
but in my soul, I’m glad to know, He maketh no mistake.

My cherished plans may go astray, my hopes may fade away,
but still, I’ll trust my Lord to lead, For He doth know the way.

Tho’ night be dark, and it may seem That day will never break,
I’ll pin my faith, my all, in Him, He maketh no mistake.

There’s so much now I cannot see, my eyesight far too dim,
but come what may, I’ll simply trust and leave it all to Him.

For by and by the mist will lift, and plain it all He’ll make, through all the way,
Tho’ dark to me, He made not one mistake.

Kiss The Son!!

By "kissing the Son," we are to understand love to Christ's person, devotion to Christ's service, submission to Christ's authority. Since the Lord Jesus is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords, then love, devotion, and submission to Him are our truest wisdom, and the only true path of genuine blessedness. For what blessedness can they have, who are liable to the wrath of God? If His wrath flares up against you, could you endure the thought of meeting His displeasure? Are you stronger than God? Will you provoke Him to jealousy? No! The most careless of mankind, if he reflects at all, must be sensible that "it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God!" (Hebrews 10:31)

They shall be protected by His power. They shall be preserved by His grace. They shall be enriched by His bounty. They shall be blessed by Him with all spiritual blessings. And in the last day, they shall be seated with Him on His throne, and be partakers of His glory for evermore! A saving trust in Christ renders a man inconceivably blessed! It brings peace into his soul. It obtains for him the forgiveness of all his sins. It secures "grace sufficient for him," and "strength according to his day." It makes him "blessed" in every state, in health or sickness, in wealth or poverty, in life or death. It entitles him to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance in Heaven!

No person who ever possessed sincere trust in Christ, ever perished. Glory and honor and immortality are the portion of all who sincerely trust in Christ as their Lord and Savior! If you have any desire to escape the wrath to come, or to lay hold on eternal life then this is the sure, the only way of attaining your end. If you neglect Christ then whatever else you either are, or have, or do it will avail you nothing; and you must perish everlastingly! Love the Lord Jesus Christ and give yourselves up to Him; and notwithstanding your past, present, or future sins, you shall never perish, but shall have everlasting life!

 [Charles H. Spurgeon]

Psalm 2:12 ... Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Trust in Him...

Trust in the death and resurrection of Christ for forgiveness of your sins.

Colossians 1:13-14 ... Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

2 Corinthians 1:9-10 ... But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:  Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

1 Corinthians 15:2-4 ... By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Trusting God!!

What we need very badly these days is a company of Christ’s followers prepared to trust God as completely now as they must do at the last day! For each of us, the time is surely coming when we shall all have nothing but God. To people of pseudo-faith, that is a terrifying thought. For true faith, it is either God or total collapse.

We can prove our faith by our committal to it and in no other way.
[A. W. Tozer]

Proverbs 3:5-6 ... Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Real Satisfaction.

Nothing is a surprise to God; nothing is a setback to His plans; nothing can thwart His purposes; and nothing is beyond His control. His sovereignty is absolute. Everything that happens is uniquely ordained by God. Sovereignty is a weighty thing to ascribe to the nature and character of God. Yet if He were not sovereign, He would not be God. The Bible is clear that God is in control of everything that happens.
Real satisfaction comes not in understanding God's motives, but in understanding His character, in trusting in His promises, and in leaning on Him and resting in Him as the Sovereign who knows what He is doing and does all things well.

On Whom Do You Trust?

Reader, this is an important question. Listen to the Christian's answer, and see if it is yours. "On whom do you trust?"  "I trust," says the Christian, "in the triune God of Scripture!" I trust the Father, believing that He has chosen me from before the foundation of the world.

I trust Him to provide for me in His providence, to teach me, to guide me, to correct me if need be, and to bring me home to His own house where the many mansions are! I trust the Son. The man Christ Jesus is also the true God. I trust in Him as my Redeemer to take away all my sins by His atoning sacrifice, and to adorn me with His perfect righteousness. I trust Him to be my Intercessor, to present my prayers and desires before His Father's throne. I trust Him to be my Advocate at the last great day, to plead my cause, and to justify me. I trust Him for what He is, for what He has done, and for what He has promised yet to do!

I trust the Holy Spirit. He has begun to save me from my inbred sins; I trust Him to finally drive them all out. I trust Him to curb my debased temperament, to subdue my stubborn will, to enlighten my darkened understanding, to check my evil passions, to comfort my despondency, to help my spiritual weakness, to provide my spiritual nourishment, to reign in me as my loving King, to sanctify me wholly, and then to take me up to dwell forever in glory!

Oh, blessed trust! To trust Him whose power will never be exhausted, whose love will never wane, whose kindness will never change, whose faithfulness will never fail, whose wisdom will never be confounded, and whose perfect goodness can never know a diminution!

Happy are you, reader, if this trust is yours! So trusting, you shall enjoy sweet peace now, and glory hereafter! The foundation of your trust shall never be removed!

[Charles H. Spurgeon]

Total Trust in The Father

A crucial link is missing in many of our lives, which often is the reason we do not receive answers to many of our prayers. Beloved, that missing link is faith. “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

James is very clear in this instruction: “Let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.” (James 1:6-7)

If a person entertains doubt, regardless of how many rivers of tears he cries, he will not receive anything from God. Of course, God wants us to cry out to him from our inmost being. But he does not hear our cries unless they are accompanied by faith!

The psalms abound with the testimony of David who came to God not only with tears but with a heart full of confidence and total trust in his Father. “Blessed be the Lord, because He has heard the voice of my supplications! The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped.” (Psalm 28:6-7)

“[The Lord] is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name.” (Psalm 33:20-21)

Nearly every time we read David’s cries to the Lord in prayer, we hear his testimony of trust. You may spend many hours in prayer, weeping and pleading with God to give you what he has already promised. We cannot conceive of the possibility that God could be displeased with our prayers. However, the Word is clear that we must “ask in faith, with no doubting.”

Beloved, grab hold of this wonderful truth and allow God to bring you into a new place in prayer.

[David Wilkerson]

What We Might Have Been

We do not know what we might have been if God's gracious protection had not been like a wall of fire around us, as it still is--for the Lord continues to deliver all who put their trust in Him.   Believe with unquestioning confidence that God is delivering you even now. You know that He has delivered you be just as sure that He will continue to help you in every time of trouble.

"I am locked in a prison of despair!" Yes, but your Lord has a key that can open the door and let you out.

"I am in great poverty!" another says. But He knows all about it, and He is going to supply all your needs.

Yet another says, "But I am fainting!" God is near, ready to revive and encourage your fainting soul.

Perhaps a person says, "I find faith for the past and the ultimate future quite easy, but I don't have enough faith for the present." We sometimes forget that God is "a very present help in times of trouble," but it is true.   There may be many trials before you, but there is an abundance of mercy ready to meet those trials. There may be troubles that you do not know yet, as well as repetitions of those you have experienced. But the Lord will give you strength and will continue to deliver you.

As the eyes gradually fail, and the limbs grow weak, and the infirmities of old age creep over us, we are likely to be distressed, but our Lord will not forsake us.   When severe sickness invades our earthly bodies and our pains multiply and intensify, we wonder how we will endure.  As we consider our death, we wonder how we will be able to bear our last hours.   Be encouraged: He who has delivered and does deliver will continue to deliver.  Even as the trial comes, the Lord will show you a way of escape.

He has delivered you, give Him your gratitude.  He is delivering you, give Him your confidence.  He will deliver you, begin now to praise Him for mercies that He has yet to show you, and for grace that you have not yet experienced but that He will grant you in the future.

[Charles H. Spurgeon]

Psalm 46:1 … God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Corinthians 1:10 … Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

Trust His Heart

God's thoughts are not as our thoughts, neither are His ways as our ways! This truth is strikingly exemplified in the manner in which He led the Israelites from Egypt to the promised land. We would have chosen the way that was nearest and most direct but God decided otherwise. He led them round about through the wilderness, and that for the space of forty years! And not merely was it the most distant way but it was the most dangerous way as well. It was a land of deserts and of pits, a land of drought and death, a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt.

But, as strange as it appeared, we are fully justified in saying that it was wisely arranged. Their long detainments; their tiresome and circuitous wanderings; their fierce conflicts with the Moabites and the Amalekites; the bitter waters which they had to drink; and the fiery serpents with which they were stung all fulfilled the high purposes of Him who is excellent in counsel, as well as wonderful in working. However contrary His way might have been to theirs yet "He led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation."

His dealings with His people now are still as unusual, and as much opposed to all their preconceived plans as were His dealings with the Israelites! He has crossed their own schemes, and thwarted their most fondly-cherished purposes! He always effects His own end in His own way!

Christian, what is your duty?  It is to cherish high thoughts of God in all His inscrutable dealings towards you.  It is to trust His heart even when you can't trace His hand; believing that "all the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, unto such as keep His covenant and His testimonies."  It is to follow His guidance continually; for as He led His people of old with "the cloud by day, the pillared fire by night" so He has promised to direct all your steps, and preserve all your goings.  It is to wait His time; for although the way may appear long and tedious yet remember, "all is well, that ends well." And what will the end be? "And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs, and everlasting joy upon their heads! They shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away!"

[John MacDuff]

Psalm 107:7 … And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

Why We Should Not Fear

We are in a world full of dangers. Perils throng around us on every side. We are in peril from disease germs, from poison, from accidents, from evil people, from the forces of nature. There are so many things around us calculated, when circumstances are favorable, to destroy our life, our health, our happiness. A thousand dangers surround us on every hand!

In the spiritual realm there is a continued conflict. It is useless to cry "Peace, peace," for we are surrounded by the forces of evil.  In the midst of this evil, is it any wonder that we should fear? Why should we not be afraid? What assurance have we of the safety of body or soul? What wonder if we shrink back from the conflicts, the trials, and the dangers of life? But God calmly looks down upon it all, sees it all, and yet says again and again to us, "Fear not!" "Be not afraid!" "Let not your hearts be troubled!" Paul says, "In nothing terrified by your adversaries." How can we help being afraid? Why should not terror take hold upon us? Why should we not shrink in dismay?

Well, there are plenty of reasons why we should not. God enumerates in Isaiah 43 some of these reasons why we should not fear. There he says to his people, "Do not be afraid." He does not say this merely to make them overlook the dangers around them, or to give them a false sense of security. He says this because they really have no reason to be afraid.

In summing up the reasons why they should not be afraid, he gives the following: he calls himself "the Lord who created you." God created us as we are. He put us in the midst of all these dangers. We are weak because we are finite humans. God created us thus, and the fact that he created us, thus places upon him a responsibility with regard to us. If he places us in the midst of these temptations, trials, difficulties, and dangers, then will he not be responsible for the outcome? And if he is responsible for the outcome, then is he not responsible to see that conditions are such that we can meet these difficulties victoriously?  Is he not under obligation to provide for our safety?  Certainly he is.  More than that, he will not shrink from the obligation that rests upon him to provide for us.

[Charles Naylor]

Isaiah 43:1-7 …  But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.   When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.  For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.  Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.  Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;  Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

Saved From Disappointment

Never trust in man for his heart is deceitful.  Never expect satisfaction from from man for he is an empty cistern.  Never follow man for he is a false guide. Do not trust even in a friend. One object of trust is enough Jesus has all you need.

If you neglect this loving direction, then you may expect to suffer. But if you walk by it then your peace will be a river, and your soul will be like a well-watered garden.

He cautions you because He loves you.  He knows what is in man, you do not. He would save you from disappointment, sorrow and woe!

A Beautiful Life

Our affairs are forever getting tangled, like threads in a child's hands and we cannot straighten out the tangles ourselves! We cannot see how anything beautiful or good can come out of our poor living, or our feeble striving.

Our days are full of disappointments, and our night's rest is broken by anxieties. Yet it is the Christian's privilege to commit all life's tangles into the hands of Jesus Christ. He can take our broken things and build them up into beauty!

One of the finest windows in a great cathedral is said to have been made out of the fragments of broken glass which the workmen had thrown away as worthless. A skillful hand gathered them up and wrought them into lovely form.

In the same way, Jesus Christ can take our failures, our mistakes, our follies, our broken fragments of life, and even our sins and make them into beautiful life and character!

My Times Are in Your Hand

Is not this truth a joy to you, my soul?  It would be a sorry thing for me, if my times were in my own hands and it would afford me little satisfaction, if my times were in an angel's hands. How restful should I be in knowing that my times are in my precious Savior's hands!

He sees the end from the beginning.  He knows how to apportion my sorrows and my joys. He knows what to give and what to withhold.  He knows also when to give and when to take away.
But, alas! how often is my heart mistrustful how often have I murmured under the trying dispensations of His providence!

O my soul, be ashamed and confounded be humbled in the dust that you should ever call in question the wisdom or kindness of the dealings of Him who so loved you as to give His only Son for your redemption!

Help me, O God of my salvation, henceforth, with childlike confidence and peaceful trust, to yield all to You, and to rejoice in the assurance that "My times are in Your hand!" "My times are in Your hand;  Why should I doubt or fear?  My Father's hand will never cause His child a needless tear!"

Broken Men

God is not looking for brilliant men, is not depending upon eloquent men, is not shut up to the use of talented men in sending His Gospel out in the world. God is looking for broken men, for men who have judged themselves in the light of the Cross of Christ. When He wants anything done, He takes up men who have come to an end of themselves, and whose trust and confidence is not in themselves but in God.
