Something In It!!

A stable had something in it that was bigger than our whole world.

[C. S. Lewis]

Luke 2:11-12 ...  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. ❤

The GOOD Shepherd

The Christian does not think that God will love us because we are good.

The Christian believes that God will make us good because he loves us!

[C. S. Lewis]

Philippians 1:6 ...  Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Change...

You can't go back and change the beginning.

But you can start where you are and change the ending.

[C.S. Lewis]

2 Corinthians 5:17 ... Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Less of "Me"

True humility is not thinking less of yourself.  It is thinking of yourself less.

[C.S. Lewis]

John 3:30 ... He must increase, but I must decrease. ❤

Present Concerns

We must simply accept it that we are spirits, free and rational beings, at present inhabiting an irrational universe, and must draw the conclusion that we are not derived from it. We are strangers here. We come from somewhere else. Nature is not the only thing that exists. There is ‘another world’, and that is where we come from. And that explains why we do not feel at home here. A fish feels at home in the water. If we ‘belonged here’ we should feel at home here. All that we say about ‘Nature red in tooth and claw’, about death and time and mutability, all our half-amused, half-bashful attitude to our own bodies, is quite inexplicable on the theory that we are simply natural creatures. If this world is the only world, how did we come to find its laws either so dreadful or so comic? If there is no straight line elsewhere, how did we discover that Nature’s line is crooked?

[C. S. Lewis]

1 Chronicles 29:15 ... For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.

Love Came Down

The Son of God became a man to
enable men to become the sons of God.

[C.S. Lewis]

Matthew 1:18 ... Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Galatians 4:4-5 ... But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,  To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

Luke 2:10-11 ... And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

1 John 5:20 ... And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.❤

Be Painted

Remember - He is the artist and you are only the picture. You can't see it. So quietly submit to be painted.

[C.S. Lewis]

Deuteronomy 30:6 ... And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

Ephesians 2:10 ... For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Titus 3:5-6 ... Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

Philippians 2:13 ... For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.♥

Believing is Seeing

I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.

[C.S. Lewis]

Hebrews 11:1-3 ... Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. ❤

In God's Care

The next moment is as much beyond our grasp, and as much in God's care, as that a hundred years away. Care for the next minute is as foolish as care for a day in the next thousand years. In neither can we do anything, in both God is doing everything.

[C.S. Lewis]

Matthew 6:34 ... Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. ❤

Love Never Fails

The great thing to remember is that though our feelings come and go, God's love for us does not.

 [C.S. Lewis]

Psalm 89:33 ... Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.

Joshua 1:5 ... There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Romans 8:38-39 ... For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ♥

The Scriptures

Either the Bible will keep you away from sin, or sin will keep you away from the Bible.

[C.S. Lewis]

Psalm 119:158-160 … I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; because they kept not thy word. Consider how I love thy precepts: quicken me, O LORD, according to thy lovingkindness. Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

Matthew 4:3-4 … And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Mark 12:24 … And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

Proverbs 30:5 … Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. ♥

Forgive

To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you.

[C.S. Lewis]

Ephesians 4:32 … And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Colossians 3:13 … Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

Mark 11:25 … And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Matthew 5:44 … But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.

Matthew 18:21-22 … Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. ♥

Armed With Strength

God, who foresaw your tribulation, has specially armed you to go through it, not without pain but without stain.

[C.S. Lewis]

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Isaiah 40:29

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. Psalm 18:32

The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed. Psalm 28:8

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect. 2 Samuel 22:33

The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. Habakkuk 3:19

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Ephesians 6:10

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13 ♥

We Shall Be Changed

You don't have a Soul. You are a Soul. You have a body. [C.S. Lewis]

1 Corinthians 15:51 ... Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed ♥
