Righteous Anger.

A man who does not know how to be angry does not know how to be good. And a man that does not know how to be shaken to his heart’s core with indignation over things evil is either a fungus or a wicked man.

[Henry Ward Beecher]

Isaiah 5:20 ... Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Not One Grain Too Much

Affliction comes to us all:  not to make us sad but sober;  not to make us sorry but to make us wise; not to impoverish us but to enrich us!  We are always in the forge or on the anvil.  By trials, God is shaping us for nobler things.

No physician ever weighed out medicine to his patients with half so much care and exactness, as God weighs out every trial to us.  Not one grain too much, does He ever permit to be put in the scale!

The troubles and worries of life may be as stumbling blocks in our way or we may make them stepping-stones to a nobler character and to Heaven.  Troubles are often the tools by which God fashions us for better things!

[Henry Ward Beecher]

Hebrews 12:7-11 …  If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?  But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.  Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?  For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.  Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Mother

ƸӜƷ  Did any of you, parents, ever hear your child wake from sleep with some panic fear and shriek the mother's name through the darkness? Was not that a more powerful appeal than all words? And, depend upon it, that the soul which cries aloud on God, "the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ," though it have "no language but a cry," will never call in vain.
[Alexander MacLaren]

ƸӜƷ  Only God Himself fully appreciates the influence of a Christian mother in the molding of character in her children.
[Billy Graham]

ƸӜƷ  I don't believe there are devils enough in hell to pull a boy out of the arms of a godly mother.
[Billy Sunday]

ƸӜƷ  The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.
[Henry Ward Beecher]

ƸӜƷ  The impression that a praying mother leaves upon her children is life-long.
[D.L. Moody]

ƸӜƷ  Ladies, [motherhood] is a full-time job. Do not kid yourself that you can be a dental receptionist and a mother; that you can be a typist and a mom; that you can be a Vice President and a mom. One of the two things will win. Now look at your Bible and ask what you have to do.
[Alistair Begg]

ƸӜƷ  My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute all my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her.
[Georg Washington]

Titus 2:1-5 ... But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.  The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;  That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,  To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Pardoned

God pardons like a mother, who kisses the offense into everlasting forgiveness.

[Henry Ward Beecher]

Micah 7:19 ... He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

Numbers 14:19-21 ... Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.  And the Lord said, I have pardoned according to thy word: But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.

Colossians 1:13-14 ... Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:❤

Stepping Stones

The little troubles and worries of life may be as stumbling blocks in our way, or we may make them stepping-stones to a nobler character and to Heaven. Troubles are often the tools by which God fashions us for better things.

[Henry Ward Beecher]

Psalm 34:19 ... Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.

Romans 5:2-5 ... By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;  And patience, experience; and experience, hope:  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 ... For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.  For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
