Shana Tova

The actual translation of the greeting “Shana Tova!” is “good, sweet year.” And part of that Jewish tradition during this special occasion includes eating apples and honey.

Pomegranates are especially abundant, said to have 613 seeds, connecting it to the 613 commandments given to Moses. Pomegranates are one of the seven items of produce that are closely associated with the Land of Israel. Before the Israelites entered the Land, they sent in a group of men to scout out the land. The men returned back to the Israelite camp with grapes, pomegranates and figs; samples of the wonderful fruits that grew in Israel.

On this “head of the year,” Rosh Hashanah, it’s good to remember how the Lord has so graciously orchestrated the times and seasons.

Thank you, Lord for Your amazing symphony and the redemption we have in your Son, Yeshua/Jesus.

Leviticus 23:1-4 ... And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings. These are the feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

Rejoice ~ Celebration Awaits Us

The God-ordained Feast of Tabernacles is a prophetic feast, and one which will be kept by all the people of the world in the coming age. In resurrected bodies, we will be celebrating this feast, year to year in Jerusalem during the millennial reign of Yeshua (Jesus)! Can you imagine it: celebrating with the King of Kings! If that’s not something to anticipate, I’m not sure what is!
Right now, there’s quite a bit of turmoil in the world, which is producing a level of uncertainty and anxiety that I’ve not witnessed as a believer. Yet despite all of these scary situations, we have something wonderful to look forward to  and if you’re like me, you can’t wait!

Don’t let the times we’re living in control your life; instead, use these turbulent times as an opportunity to display the goodness and grace of God in your life! As Yeshua (Jesus) said, when you see these things begin to take place lift your heads high because your redemption draws near!

Zechariah 14:16-17 ... And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.  And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.

Luke 21:28 ... And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Revelation 19:9 ... And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Yom Kippur

יוֹם כִּפּוּר
The name "Yom Kippur" means "Day of Atonement."

The holiest day of the year for the Jewish People.
It is a day set aside to "afflict the soul," to atone for the sins of the past year.
This day is, essentially, your last appeal, your last chance to change the judgment, and to demonstrate your repentance and make amends.

✞ And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,  Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.  And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God. Leviticus 23:26-28

✞ But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.  And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.  Romans 5:8-11

Shanah Tovah

ראש השנה

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year and is called the Feast of Trumpets.

The blowing of the shofar is a call to repent.

The common greeting is Shanah Tovah.

Shanah Tova is shortened from L'Shanah Tovah Tikatevu, meaning 'May you be may you be inscribed in the Book of Life for a good year.'

Have a good year.

A good blessed year.

Numbers 29:1 ... And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.

Leviticus 23:24 ...   Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

Ezra 3:1-2 ... And when the seventh month was come, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.  Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

Micah 7:18-20 ... Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.  He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

Revelation 21:27 ... And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.✞

The Fall Feast

Yeshua Jesus has fulfilled the Spring Feasts.

Jesus is the Passover Lamb of God.
John 1:29 ... The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Jesus is the Unleavened Bread of Life.
John 6:51 ... I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Jesus is the First Fruits.
1 Corinthians 15:20 ... But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

Jesus sent the Holy Spirit on the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost).
Acts 2:1-4 ...  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Because Jesus' fulfillment of the Spring Feasts is so exact, He will also fulfill the Fall Feast. Amen.

John 14:1-3 ... Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.   In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. ❤

Hosanna in the Highest

On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,  Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.  John 12:12-13

And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord: Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest. Mark 11:9-10
