What Are You Seeking?

Arranging of Our Own Lives

Dear friend, in the matter of your present trial and trouble you have been trying to figure out the design of the Almighty, but without success. You must realize that His ways are past finding out. In all probability, you may never discover God's purpose in your present trial, on this side of eternity.

But that He has a purpose is certain, and His purpose is a wise and kind one. It is such as you yourself would delight in, if you were capable of understanding it. If you could have a mind like God, then you would exactly act as God does, even in this matter that now troubles you. At present your thoughts are far below those of God, and therefore you err when you try to measure His ways.

If you have a quarrel with your heavenly Father about a bereavement or a sickness, then end it at once with humble shame. If it ever comes to a question as to which is right: a poor, ignorant, inexperienced child or a great, good, wise Father; then there cannot be a moment's deliberation: the father's will must be better for the child, than its own will.

Jesus knows what He is doing, and why He is doing it. He has a wise and good reason for loss of your health, those pains in your body, your depression of spirit,

your lack of success in business, even for the allowance of the cruel tongue of slander to inflict its wounds upon you!

In every trial and affliction, we must always trust that Jesus knows what He is doing and that all He does is done in infinite wisdom and love for us, and so it is the best for us.

(The following quotes are also from Spurgeon, but from various other sermons:)

"If we were as wise as God, then we would do just what He now does with us. If we could see all things as He sees them, then we would order all our affairs exactly as He orders them."

"Had we the choosing of our lot, and could we see the end from the beginning, then we would say, 'Lord, choose for me!' For we would feel that if we were as wise as God, then we would make precisely the same choice which He has made for us."

"If we had the arranging of our own lives, and the disposing of all events, and were as wise as God; then we would let things stay exactly as they now are."

"Beloved, if you could be as wise as God, then you would never wish to have a single trial altered. You would desire that the whole course of your life should be precisely as it is."

"The Lord has lent me everything that I have. And now that He has called them back, I will bless His name for having let me enjoy them for so long."

[Charles H. Spurgeon]

"Forgiveness"

You will know that forgiveness has begun when you recall those who hurt you and feel the power to wish them well.

[Lewis B. Smedes]

Matthew 5:43-48 ... Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.  For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?  And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Yes, The Lord is Coming Again!!

There is a popular belief that the end times happened in 70AD. There is literally NO PROOF Jesus returned already. This is from the enemy to get people relaxed and not looking. Do NOT be deceived by Preterism!

2 Timothy 2:17-18 ... And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.  ❤

Love Speech ...

Biblical truth is not hate speech.

It's LOVE speech.

Truth is only considered hate from those that hate the truth.

Overcome!!

An umbrella cannot stop the rain, but it allows us to stand in the rain.

Faith in God may not remove our trials, but it gives us the strength to overcome them!

Putting Christ Back ...

I'd settle for putting Christ back in Christians!

Seeking Faith...

Some of you seek for faith much in the same way as you would dig for a well. You turn the eye inward upon yourself and search amidst the depths of your polluted heart to find if faith is there; you search amid all your feelings at sermons and sacraments to see if faith is there; and still, you find nothing but sin and disappointment.

Look full in the face of Jesus.

Drink in His Word.

Faith comes by hearing the voice of Jesus.

Right To Live

Like toddler and adolescent, the terms embryo and fetus do not refer to nonhumans but to humans at various stages of development. It is scientifically inaccurate to say a human embryo or a fetus is not a human being simply because he is at an earlier stage than an infant. This is like saying that a toddler is not a human being because he is not yet an adolescent.

Does someone become more human as he gets bigger? If so, then adults are more human than children, and football players are more human than jockeys. Something nonhuman does not become human or more human by getting older or bigger; whatever is human is human from the beginning, or it can never be human at all. The right to live does not increase with age and size; otherwise, toddlers and adolescents have less right to live than adults.

Churches ...

A LIBERAL church says you are welcome here and you do not have to clean up your life.

A LEGALISTIC church says you are not welcome here until you clean up your life.

The Lord says you are welcome here and he will change your life from the inside out!

John 8:10-11 ...  When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

John 8:36 ... If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. ❤

Happy Independence Day!

Repent!!

Man cannot be righteous in God’s sight until he repents of his own expectation that he can be righteous in his own sight. God is not mighty toward man until man is weak toward God.

The Overflowing Cup

God's goodness to His people is meted out with no begrudged or measured hand. Our Shepherd is Divine, and Deity is the source, and Infinity the measure, of His supplies. "My cup runs over." This would appear the crown and climax of the blessings of which our Nightingale Psalmist had been sweetly singing. The Lord his Shepherd had given him not a full cup merely, but a brimmed one; not brimmed only, but overflowing; a cup like, and worthy of, Himself as "exceedingly abundantly above all that he had asked or thought." (Ephesians 3:20)
