When was the last time you felt truly rested? Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). People then were laboring to enter the kingdom of God, attempting to earn salvation by their works. They worked hard at it then, and they’re working at it hard now. As a result, they are heavy laden in their spiritual toil of finding righteousness through legalism.
When Jesus said, “I will give you rest,” that word rest actually means “vacation.” He was saying that He would give them a vacation from all that legalism, as well as guilt and sin. Religion really is a sorry thing. The biggest word in religion is the word “do.”
Much of Christianity has degenerated into a “do” religion “do this” or “don’t do” that. But the greatest word in true Bible Christianity is “done” because there is nothing else to do except believe in Jesus Christ and Him crucified Christ has done it all.
The Bible says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8)
If you’re tired today, come to Christ. He wants to give you rest.

Hebrews 4:3-5 ... For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. ❤
