Carrying The Cross

It would seem that we have designed a modern-day rendition of carrying the Cross that doesn’t give us splinters, revilement, and death. We want the benefits of the Cross, but we don’t want to carry it.

Mark 8:34 ... And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Romans 8:36 ... As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

Matthew 10:28 ... And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

God's Grace.

Grace is more than the merciful hug of God; it’s the divine enabling power of His Spirit to transform a human life from the inside out; to supernaturally equip us to live a life that would be impossible in our own strength. Love, joy and peace are not meant to be merely nice-sounding Scriptural concepts, but rather the daily experience and outflow of the Christian’s life.

John 1:16 ... And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

Ephesians 4:7 ... But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:10 ... But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Life in His Kingdom

The crucified, risen, and exalted Jesus Christ is truly knowable, and life in His kingdom is not a theory or a theology, but a very real and practical life-altering experience.

[Eric Ludy]

1 Corinthians 1:9 ... God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Matthew 22:37 ... Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Proverbs 3:32 ... For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.

1 Peter 5 :6-7 ... Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Christian Declaration

The constant declaration of the Christian life is “I can’t, but God can!” Our lives were made to be inhabited by the Living God, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, to be used as a “glove” upon His hand. This enabling power of His life, called “grace,” supplies all we need for life and godliness. Grace is far more than a mere hug of God. It is the supernatural fuel that equips us to live a life that would otherwise be impossible.

Matthew 19:26 ... But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

1 Corinthians 15:57 ... But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts 1:8 ... But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Philippians 4:13 ... I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
