[A. A. Milne]

Luke 16:10 ... He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

Consideration

A little Consideration, a little Thought for Others, makes all the difference.

[A. A. Milne]

Philippians 2:3-4 ... Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.  Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

1 Thessalonians 4:9 ...  But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

Matthew 7:12 ... Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.❤

Friendship

" Friendship," said Christopher Robin, "is a very comforting thing to have."

[A.A. Milne]

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 ... Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.  For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

Proverbs 27:9-10 ... Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.  Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.

John 15:12-13 ... This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.  Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Pride ~

God can never entrust His Kingdom to anyone who has not been broken of pride, for pride is the armour of darkness itself.

[Francis Frangipane]

Proverbs 11:2 ...  When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

Proverbs 16:18 ... Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

1 John 2:16 ... For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

The Ant and The Contact Lens

Brenda was a young woman who was invited to go rock climbing. Although she was scared to death, she went with her group to a tremendous granite cliff. In spite of her fear, she put on the gear, took a hold on the rope, and started up the face of that rock. Well, she got to a ledge where she could take a breather. As she was hanging on there, the safety rope snapped against Brenda’s eye and knocked out her contact lens.

Well, here she is on a rock ledge, with hundreds of feet below her and hundreds of feet above her. Of course, she looked and looked and looked, hoping it had landed on the ledge, but it just was not there. Here she was, far from home, her sight now blurry. She was desperate and began to get upset, so she prayed to the Lord to help her to find it.

When she got to the top, a friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but there was no contact lens be found. She sat down, despondent, with the rest of the party, waiting for the rest of them to make it up the face of the cliff. She looked out across range after range of mountains, thinking of that Bible verse that says, "The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth." (2 Chronicles 16:9) She thought, Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and you know exile to the bottom.

At the bottom there was a new party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, "Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?" Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moving slowly across the face of the rock, carrying it.

Brenda told me that her father is a cartoonist. When she told him the incredible story of the ant, the prayer, and the contact lens, he drew a picture of an ant lugging that contact lens with the words, "Lord, I don’t know why You want me to carry this thing. I can’t eat it, and it’s awfully heavy. But if this is what You want me to do, I’ll carry it for You."

I think it would probably do some of us good to occasionally say, "God, I don’t know why you want me to carry this load. I can see no good in it and it’s awfully heavy. But, if you want me to carry it, I will." ❤

It's Today

“What day is it?"

"It's today," squeaked Piglet.

"My favorite day," said Pooh.

[A.A. Milne]
