True repentance embraces these things:
1. A knowledge of sin.
2. Humility.
3. Deep and genuine abasement of soul before God.
4. Sincere and hearty confession of sin.
5. Shame.
6. Sincere grief for sin.
7. Self-loathing, self-abhorrence.
8. Hatred of sin, sin in every form.
9. Love of holiness.
10. Amendment of life.
