Emergency Management Response

We live in a very different world today, much more than the generation before us. Culture is changing, people are changing (for the worse) and men's behavior as well is changing to such a degree that we must adapt to that every growing change. Sad to see so many killed today in a small Texas church, yet we must stop ignoring the changing world around us and begin to adapt collectively as a people to what we see happening.

I believe without question that it is irresponsible for any pastor in today's changing world, not to have armed security in their church, that goes for even the most smallest church. What we are seeing is the rise of extreme evil, and as such, the only measurable assurance for those who come to church is the knowing that they are safe, their families are safe, and their children are safe from any and all acts of violence. Yet many within the church are caught up in tradition and not relevancy.

If you are a pastor, you need to seriously examine your response to what could happen in your church. This is called Emergency Management Response. To not do so is to undermine the responsibility you have in protecting your people from all harm.  Armed security *could* have stopped what turned out to be a massive act of terror, and this is terrorism, domestic, but terrorism just the same. Go to any church in the middle east, even Israel and you'll see armed people protecting the congregation. The same in other parts of our world. Why? Because people adapt to change.

God has not called us to be open targets in his house of worship, instead, he's given us the tools by which we are to live. To do otherwise, or not even consider such, is to ignore wisdom in a world that has none. Guns stop mayhem.
