If there was any lingering doubt as to where the powers that be in this nation desire and want America to go, then let this photo-op remind us all that THEY do NOT want YOU, the Christian who holds to traditional values, who still believes in Capitalism, who still believes in Constitutional law, who still believes in freedom of speech, who still believes that marriage is between ONE man and ONE woman, who rejects Islam, Buddhism, Taoism, and yet holds to the Bible as THE final authority; they do not want YOU, nor I, to see our nation blessed and prosperous under God, nor the church to spread the message of the cross across the globe.
When the funeral of a man who rejected traditional marriage, who rejected calls by Conservatives to stick to biblical beliefs, who, at every turn gave insult to Christian values, when that man's funeral becomes a political protest with such a venomous animosity towards the current sitting President in words which echo among our former leaders, then it tells me we've reached a new threshold that I could not have dreamed even remotely possible.
The hatred that is rising toward Christian values and beliefs is a warning, and a spiritual one at that to remind us - the church - that all is not well. It's one thing to respect a man when he is dead, but for that man, while he was yet living, to purposely orchestrate his own funeral as one last "dig" at the President, allowing others, even those who claim the label "Conservative" to reveal their true, inner thoughts with such venom, proves that the rise of a post-Christian nation is not in the future, it's already here.
Let me give a warning from Dr. James Dobson in 2008, as he warned then why it could never allow one such as John McCain to occupy the highest office in the land even at the risk of allowing Barack Obama the win the nomination: "The Republican party, [Dobson warned], “seems poised to select a nominee who did not support a constitutional amendment to protect the institution of marriage, who voted for embryonic stem-cell research to kill nascent human beings, who opposed tax cuts that ended the marriage penalty, who has little regard for freedom of speech, who organized the ‘Gang of 14’ to preserve filibusters, and who has a legendary temper and who often uses foul and obscene language. Should John McCain capture the nomination as many assume, I believe this general election will offer the worst choices for president in my lifetime.”
This was not a funeral, but a desecration of the highest office in the land masked as one.
