There are now over 7.8 billion people in the world today. At any given minute in some part of the world a new person is brought into our global society, and with every passing second someone leaves this world. This constant of life and death is ironic, if not consistent.
Given this fact, consider the following:
Satan is not omnipotent. (He does not know all)
Satan is not omnipresent. (He cannot be every where at any given moment at the same time)
Satan is bound by natural law. (He cannot change or manipulate times and seasons to his own will)
Satan’s knowledge is based on information, past, present, and permissible future. (He only knows what he can ascertain and even then, as it relates to our future or the worlds future, he is given only what he is permitted to know)
Satan does NOT know every single person in this world, in particular, believers. Every bit of information given is relative to Satan’s hierarchy within his established system of rule. Satan is NOT under the believers feet/foot. (Peter describes Satan like a roaring lion. Paul warns of Satan’s ability to contend with the believer in such a way that only thru prayer and humility we can resist him)
Satan is NOT defeated. (This is subjective, as well as misplaced theology, all due to current and popular teaching which is rooted in the word of faith doctrine. Satan has been defeated at the cross, but his defeat will not come until he is finally cast into a lake of fire.)
We must remember that our battles, physical, mental and spiritual are rooted in our persistence to following Christ and that, to a larger or lesser degree, brings attacks by the enemy and/or his servants. Our victory, however, rests in Christ and his completed work on the cross. It is that power and resource of strength allows us, the believer to contend with the enemy’s designed attack, whether or not he personally knows our name or not. Just the fact we are in Christ, and doing his will, will then determine his attention to whatever degree he may desire.
Only then can we know as Paul understood when a demon responded to 7 frauds, “Jesus I know, Paul I know, but who are you?” (Acts 19:15)
