Faithfulness to Christ

It does not matter what someone did in the past as it relates to ministry if they went off the reservation (spiritual error to the point of heresy), if they are no longer in the faith, if they have departed the truth and are preaching another Christ, they are now an enemy of the cross.

It makes no difference how many people attended, made their way to the altar call and made a declaration to follow Jesus or even reached millions for Christ, if that man or woman is not walking in the truth, everything they did as it relates to their past work is forgotten by God.

Paul himself declared what good does it bring if he wins the world but finds himself lost at the point of death? Past works and past accomplishments are no indicator of a perfect standing with God if the person in question has since left the teaching of the cross and has embraced heresy. This is why it's important that we judge all matters in relation to spiritual things, and more importantly those who preach it.

Men are imperfect, fallen beings, subject to error, or worse - becoming reprobate if they fail to keep their faith in Christ and his finished work on the cross. This is why we do not follow men, nor do we put men on a platform, because men will fail us each and every time. But God, who sent his son, gave us the only means by which we must follow - that being Christ.

I'm not impressed by the numbers of a servant of God, just the end result, were they faithful unto the end? That's the only thing that matters - faithfulness to Christ and the cross.

[Christopher Gregory]

1 Corinthians 9:27 … But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
