Fear vs. Faith

We can literally live in two different worlds, (dark)FEAR or (Light)FAITH. Each of them brings forth ‘an environment’ in our mind that effects all aspects of our life. FEAR will make us die a thousand deaths of ‘worries’ and ‘what if’s’ that 99% of the time never come to pass. The evil reports in the news, on our social media feeds, in our imaginations. This creates in us a dark, sticky, torment that [perpetually] robs us of our Joy, our peace, and our ability to be a quality witness of real hope to the lost world around us.

God’s Word tells us 365 times, “Do Not Fear.”  If we ignore this command we are actually sinning against God and our own mind, soul and body. Because this tormenting fear brings the atmosphere of hell with it. Repentance is the only cure. Faith on the other hand opens the mind, soul and body to receive the lighted presence of True Love. When Jesus says, “Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.” (John 15:4) This wording infers that we have a choice in the matter. We can ‘remain’ in the darkness of fear, which brings torment, or we can reject fear and ‘remain’ in the light of God’s presence which brings forth the fruit of the Spirit. Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Hope, etc. We can’t live in both. It’s impossible.

We cannot underestimate the power of our choices and our ‘mental companions’ (our thoughts). Proverbs 4:23 reminds us of this, “Guard your heart with all diligence, for from it flow springs of life.” Philippians 4:4-9 gives us a recipe for a love-filled life, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be apparent to all. The Lord is nearby. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think on these things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me, put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” Notice, this passage is not saying stick your head in the sand and ignore potential real problems or fears. It says to pray! (Powerful Weapon) and casting our anxieties up to God is a cleansing exercise that should always end in thanksgiving, praise and worship!

Even if something bad happens or comes our way, as long as we have done what God commands us to do, we never have to give up our Joy and Peace that comes from us abiding in His presence. WE MUST REJECT FEAR AND CLING TO FAITH IN JESUS.

As long as we ‘remain’ in Him, the actual presence of True Love can never be taken from us!
