Alone with God

We have to get rid of the idea that we understand ourselves. That is always the last bit of pride to go. The only One who understands us is God. The greatest curse in our spiritual life is pride. If we have ever had a glimpse of what we are like in the sight of God, we will never say, “Oh, I’m so unworthy.” We will understand that this goes without saying. But as long as there is any doubt that we are unworthy, God will continue to close us in until He gets us alone.

[Oswald Chambers]

Mark 4:34 … But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.

Job 22:21 … Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.

Romans 14:7-8 … For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. ♥
