Prayers For Your Spouse

1.  Pray that he/she lives in accordance with God's plan.
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4: 1-3

2. Pray that God will be glorified in your marriage.
This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.  Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband. Ephesians 5:32-33

3.  Pray that he/she will surrender to Christ at all times.
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.  Psalm 46:10-11

4. Pray that he/she will have a giving heart.
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
5.  Pray for his/her integrity.
The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.  Proverbs 11:3

6.  Pray for strength during his/her temptations.
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

7.  Pray that God will give him/her discernment.
And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.Philippians 1:9-10

8.  Pray for his/her handling of finances.
No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.  Luke 16:13

9.  Pray that he/she will trust in God's plan, not his/her own.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  Jeremiah 29:11

10.  Pray that he/she will give everything to the Lord in prayer.
Pray without ceasing.  1 Thessalonians 5:17

11.  Pray that he/she seeks wisdom.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.  James 1:5

12.  Pray that the Lord will teach him/her how to be a good husband/wife.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.  For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.  Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;  That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,  That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.  So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.   Ephesians 5:22-28

13.  Pray that he/she will submit his/her fears to God.
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?  Psalm 118:6

14.  Pray that he/she will fully grasp his/her purpose in Christ.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  Romans 8:28

15.  Pray for his/her health.
All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.  1 Corinthians 6:12

16.  Pray that he/she will be surrounded by godly people.
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.  Proverbs 13:20

17.  Pray that he/she will boldly declare the Truth of the Gospel.
Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.  Acts 28:31

18.  Pray that he/she will grow spiritually through reading, studying and prayer.
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.  2 Peter 3:18

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.  Ephesians 4:32

22.  Pray that he/she will have courage.
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.  Joshua 1:9

23.  Pray for his/her heart.
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.  Proverbs 4:23
