Seven Positions Concerning Holiness

1. Wherever genuine holiness is, it will appear, it will discover itself, it will show itself.

2. Holiness rises by degrees.

3. There is a great deal of preciousness in the least degree of holiness.

4. All saints are not alike holy.

5. A Christian may be more eminently holy at one time than at another; he may thrive and increase more in holiness at one season than at another.

6. There will come a time when in this world, holiness shall be more general, and more eminent, than ever it has been since Adam fell in paradise.

7. Though the people of God ought to be holy at all times yet there are some special times and seasons wherein God calls aloud for holiness.

[Thomas Brooks]

Matthew 5:16 … Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Job 17:9 … The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.

Romans 12:1 … I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
