Divorce is the final solution when there are no other options for a woman (or man) who continually faces living with someone who continually abuses their right to a partnership, or fails to respect the rights of their partner.
Sometimes people are just prone to bad decisions, even in the realm of marriage, where rash choices are made and the end result is a relationship that is incompatible with the other person, or worse, becomes toxic.
God does not operate in a toxic marriage, instead, he gives each person guidance on the matter, and should they take heed to his direction, the path toward freedom is divorce. This is a far cry from simply disagreeing on matters of finance, children, or family. This is referring to relationships that are by their very nature hostile or abusive in such a way that only a complete removal from their environment can bring deliverance.
Causes for divorce can range from physical, sexual, or even verbal abuse, to financial hardships. A pattern of marital betrayal due to adultery is grounds for divorce. Violence, mental anguish, being unloving or unkind, are justifiable reasons God gives a man or a woman to divorce their spouse.
Divorce is the last option one should take after every option (to a degree) has been exhausted. But it (divorce) also is the door that closes that chapter of one's life, yet opens up the possibilities to something better for the future.
That's God's intention when it comes to divorce, to save the one from a life of suffering. Hope that helps.

1 Corinthians 7:15 ... But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.
* Peace meaning freedom.
