Prayer in America

We seek a constitutional amendment to permit voluntary school prayer. God should never have been expelled from America's classrooms in the first place.

[Ronald Reagan]

1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 ... Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Philippians 4:6 ... Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

1 John 4:6 ... We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.❤

Disciples

When Christ was here, He was looking for disciples...He is still looking for them today. Man searches for leadership; Jesus seeks followers. Man elevates the educated; Christ blesses the teachable. Man struggles for power; Christ teaches submission. Man strives for prestige; the Holy Spirit produces humility. Man labors for achievement; Christ requires only obedience.

[Frances Roberts]

Luke 9:23 ... And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

John 13:35 ... By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

John 14:15 ... If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 15:8 ... Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.❤

Confess

It does not spoil your happiness to confess your sin. The unhappiness is in not making the confession.

[Charles H. Spurgeon]

Proverbs 28:13 ...  He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

1 John 1:9 ... If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

2 Corinthians 7:10 ... For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

Psalm 32:5 ... I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. ❤

On Suffering ~

Our sorrows are all, like ourselves, mortal. "There are no immortal sorrows for immortal souls." They come, but blessed be God, they also go. Like birds of the air, they fly over our heads. But they cannot make their abode in our souls. We suffer today, but we shall rejoice tomorrow.

[Charles H. Spurgeon]

Psalm 30:4-5  ... Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.   For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.❤

Paid in Full

Fundamental to the Christian faith is the teaching that Jesus Christ paid the full price for our sins on Calvary. Just before His death, Jesus said, “It is finished.” (John 19:30) What Jesus said was actually an accounting term that meant “paid in full.” Christians everywhere rejoice in the assurance that all their sins and iniquities have been forgiven through Jesus’ shed blood.

[message from the Internet]

1 John 1:7 ... But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Isaiah 53:5 ... But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Ephesians 2:13 ... But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. ❤

Healing is in Your Hand

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. Malachi 4:2 ❤

Reconciled

God loves us the way we are but He loves us too much to leave us that way.

[Leighton Ford]

Isaiah 61:3 ... To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

Colossians 1:21-22 ... And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled   In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

2 Corinthians 5:17 ... Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. ❤

Cold or Hot

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.  Revelation 3:15-22 ✞

Let There Be Light

Children of Light, do not hide or doubt what God has placed within you... His words are still speaking,  still creating, still overtaking the darkness:  Let there be light.

[Melissa Campbell]

Isaiah 60:1 ... Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

Matthew 5:14 ... Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Matthew 5:16 ... Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

John 8:12 ... Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. ❤

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is setting someone else free and then realizing that you were the prisoner.

[Max Lucado]

James 5:14-15 ... Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Luke 17:3 ...  Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

John 8:36 ... If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.❤
