Wait On The Lord

"Wait on the Lord" is a constant refrain in the Psalms, and it is a necessary word, for God often keeps us waiting. He is not in such a hurry as we are, and it is not his way to give more light on the future than we need for action in the present, or to guide us more than one step at a time. When in doubt, do nothing, but continue to wait on God. When action is needed, light will come.
[J. I. Packer]
Psalm 27:14 ... Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
Psalm 37:34 ... Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
Psalm 39:7 ... And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.
Psalm 130:5 ... I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
Lamentations 3:26 ... It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.
