Let Go and Let God

As children bring their broken toys with tears for us to mend, I brought my broken dreams to God because He was my Friend.

But then instead of leaving Him in peace to work alone, I hung around and tried to help with ways that that were my own.

At last I snatched them back and cried, "How can You be so slow?" "My child," He said, "What could I do? You never did let go."

Doubt vs. Faith

Doubt sees the obstacle,
Faith sees the Way.

Doubt sees a long dark night,
Faith sees the day.

Doubt dreads to take a step,
Faith soars on high.

Doubt thunders, "Who believes?"
Faith whispers, "I."

Trip to Heaven

I was shocked, confused, bewildered,
As I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.

But it was the folks in Heaven,
Who made me sputter and gasp--
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
the alcoholics and the trash.

There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money! Twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.

Jerry, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.

I nudged Jesus, 'What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake!

'And why's everyone so quiet,
So somber? - Please give me a clue.'
'Hush, child,' He said, 'it's because
they're all in shock….
No one thought they'd be seeing you.'

The Plan of The Master Weaver

My life is but a weaving between the Lord and me, I may not choose the colors, He knows what they should be, For He can view the pattern upon the upper side, While I can see it only on this, the under side…

Sometimes He weaveth sorrow, which seemeth strange to me, But I will trust His judgement, and work on faithfully, ‘Tis He who fills the shuttle, and He knows what is best, So I shall weave in earnest, leaving to Him the rest…

Not till the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly, Shall God unroll the canvas and explain the reason why - The dark threads are as needed in the Weaver’s skillful hand As the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned.

[Corrie Ten Boom]

1 Peter 5:10 … But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

John 16:33 … These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Jeremiah 29:11 … For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Romans 8:28 … And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Philippians 1:6 … Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. ♥

Got Oil?

One of these days (or night) the trump is going to sound and the King of kings Yeshua Jesus will step out on the clouds to call us home. … and so shall we ever be with the Lord (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18). Keep your lamps burning...watch and pray! Amen. ℛℒ

Matthew 25:1-13 … Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.♥

On Wings of Love

The priceless gift of life is love,
For with the help of God above
Love can change the human race
And make this world a better place
For love dissolves all hate and fear
And makes our vision bright and clear
So we can see and rise above
Our pettiness on wings of love.

Heartprints

Whatever our hands touch -
We leave fingerprints!
On walls, on furniture
On doorknobs, dishes, books.
There's no escape.
As we touch we leave our identity.

Wherever I go today
Help me leave heartprints!
Heartprints of compassion
Of understanding and love.
Heartprints of kindness
And genuine concern.

May my heart touch a lonely neighbor
Or a runaway daughter
Or an anxious mother
Or perhaps an aged grandfather.
Send me out today
To leave heartprints.

And if someone should say,
'I felt your touch,'
May they also feel the love
That is deep inside my heart.

Glorious Hope

It is a very blessed thing to be on the watch for Christ, it is a blessing to us now. How it detaches you from the world! You can be poor without murmuring. You can be rich without worldliness. You can be sick without sorrowing. You can be healthy without presumption. If you are always waiting for Christ's coming, untold blessings are wrapped up in that glorious hope.

[Charles H. Spurgeon]

Proverbs 8:34 … Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

Jeremiah 17:7 … Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

Titus 2:13 … Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.

John 14:2-3 … In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

1 Thessalonians 4:17-18 … Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. ♥

Jesus is Coming ... Again!

He came the first time to die; He is coming again to raise the dead.

When He came the first time, they questioned whether He was King; the next time the world will know that He is King of kings and Lord of lords.

The first time He wore a crown of thorns; the next time He will be wearing a crown of glory.

The first time He came in poverty; the next time He is coming in power.

The first time He had an escort of angels; the next time He will come with ten thousands of His saints.

The first time He came in meekness; He is coming again in majesty.

[Adrian Rogers]

John 14:2-3 ... In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 ... For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Revelation 22:12-13 ... And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. ♥

Glory Hallelujah I shall not be moved. Anchored in Jehovah I shall not be moved. Just like a tree planted by the water, I shall not be moved.

I shall not be I shall not be moved. I shall not be I shall not be moved. Just like a tree planted by the water, I shall not be moved.

In His love abiding I shall not be moved. And in Him confiding I shall not be moved. Just like a tree planted by the water, I shall not be moved.

I shall not be I shall not be moved. I shall not be I shall not be moved. Just like a tree planted by the water, I shall not be moved.

Though the tempest rages I shall not be moved. On the rock of ages I shall not be moved. Just like a tree planted by the water, I shall not be moved.

I shall not be I shall not be moved. I shall not be I shall not be moved. Just like a tree planted by the water, I shall not be moved.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 1:3

I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Psalm 16:8

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. Psalm 62:6 ♥

God and the Spider

During World War II, a US marine was separated from his unit on a Pacific Island. The fighting had been intense, and in the smoke and the crossfire he had lost touch with his comrades.

Alone in the jungle, he could hear enemy soldiers coming in his direction. Scrambling for cover, he found his way up a high ridge to several small caves in the rock. Quickly he crawled inside one of the caves. Although safe for the moment, he realized that once the enemy soldiers looking for him swept up the ridge, they would quickly search all the caves and he would be killed.

As he waited, he prayed, "Lord, if it be your will, please protect me. Whatever your will though, I love you and trust you. Amen."

After praying, he lay quietly listening to the enemy begin to draw close. He thought, "Well, I guess the Lord isn't going to help me out of this one.." Then he saw a spider begin to build a web over the front of his cave.

As he watched, listening to the enemy searching for him all the while, the spider layered strand after strand of web across the opening of the cave. "Ha, he thought. "What I need is a brick wall and what the Lord has sent me is a spider web. God does have a sense of humor."

As the enemy drew closer he watched from the darkness of his hideout and could see them searching one cave after another. As they came to his, he got ready to make his last stand. To his amazement, however, after glancing in the direction of his cave, they moved on. Suddenly, he realized that with the spider web over the entrance, his cave looked as if no one had entered for quite a while. "Lord, forgive me," prayed the young man. "I had forgotten that in You … a spider's web is stronger than a brick wall."

We all face times of great trouble. When we do, it is so easy to forget the victories that God would work in our lives, sometimes in the most surprising ways. As the great leader, Nehemiah, reminded the people of Israel when they faced the task of rebuilding Jerusalem, "In God we will have success!" [Nehemiah 2:20]

Remember: Whatever is happening in your life, with God, a mere spider's web can become a brick wall of protection. Believe He is with you always. Just speak His name through Jesus His son, and you will see His great power and love for you.

U-Turns

Repentance requires that you have a change of heart; change your mind and look at God's way. God wants us to turn away from sin, and turn toward Him, trusting in Yeshua Jesus. If you're headed in the wrong direction, God allows U-turns! ℛℒ

Acts 3:19 … Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Joel 2:13 … And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

Matthew 4:17 … From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Acts 17:30 … And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

2 Peter 3:9 … Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. ♥
